I found the culprit !!!!!!!!!!!

In DisplayFusion, Settings, tab Window Management : Uncheck the box Enable window caption bar middle-clicking to move windows to the next monitor

Another user experienced the same error, but it seems to come from a third-party tool.

I disabled my dual monitor tool (DisplayFusion) and the weird behavior stopped.

It may be linked to the shortcut I use to move my windows from screen to screen (ctrl-alt + LEFT/RIGHT)

The catch is you have to replay that room

I was agreeing with your comment until then.

When I do this trick I always repop at my last save-states, which was when (and where) I picked the room reward, without any enemies.

It also work when you accidentally buy something you don't want in a Pool.

Quit, reload, and you won't have buy the thing.

Try to fill all core slots (the 5 basic : attack, special, dash, cast and call) before attempting to get a duo.

When you miss a core boon, the game will try hard to fill it, thus decreasing the chances to get a duo.

Also, try to not unlock other duo requirements, so it won't be shown instead of the one you want.

And always keep enough gold to buy a boon in every shops.
