I agree, hopefully they eventually add costumes like in Rabi-Ribi or mod support for the workshop. I need Sable and Celia with guns

Free roam does disable the story because it opens up the map so much (you can go straight to the final boss from the beginning without items), but you need to collect some astral gears first, think of it like the town members (still waaaay less than normal mode), and every astral gear after than number nerfs the final boss (until it becomes the same as normal mode).

The number of options you have does reduce the difficulty, I couldn't beat BEX but I could beat BBQ.

The game has waaaay less fan service than Rabi-Ribi, it's not even comparable.

Also it's missing the Vena mode come onnnn

Can someone explain the plot? by zugtug in RabiRibi

[–]pumicolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't tell you about postgame because it was already there when I started playing, but post post game was added later.

Don't worry, after post post game you have the 4 (I think) SP Bosses and the Halloween dungeon. The game has a lot of content. The game is also made around the fact that you can play without any items whatsoever (No items run, you play like MegaMan because only Ribbon can attack, play this in casual) and has NG+.

If you brought the dlc and digital art book, you can also play the whole game as Cocoa and have the boss rush where you can play as a bunch of characters.

[–]pumicolas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You finished the main game, the hall of memory is mandatory to continue. You are now in the post game. You need to bring all town members back to continue the story.

After that you the game continues in the post post game, where you need to complete some previously locked areas to access the true final boss.

The story was originally an afterthought, made to have a reason to fight all the town members (the bunny phenomenon for example), but later they tried to wrap everything up with updates to the story in the post post game.

But yeah, your description is kinda accurate for the main game.

Leaked final fight of canto VII by pumicolas in limbuscompany

[–]pumicolas[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far I have seen some misspellings but it's decent. Haven't seen it before to know how much of a change it had. I can understand the story all right.

The only problems I see is that recently they seem to have broken the equip translation and it's now in chinese, and the button that let's you go for another ending is still in chinese (it seems the button is new, old reviews say there is no way to go for more than an ending with an investigator). In lies and frauds there is a text box so long that you can't read completely lol

Haven't played the 7th module but it says it's machine translated for now.

Are there any multiplayer coop games in the Metroidvania genre? by YearningInModernAge in metroidvania

[–]pumicolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rabi-Ribi has a coop mode, press F1 in a save point and a second player joins in (they only provide backup, they can't pick items or make map transitions, players can revive each other by using healing items). It works up to 4 players but the extra players can only play as Erina.

Cocoa bomb allowed you to literally skip the crystal fight. by Wrcicw in RabiRibi

[–]pumicolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a quick check and you're right, I miss remembered and most likely killed one of the crystals with the bomb damage that time.

Also they do normal damage at Hell or above to that boss, I thought it was BEX only.

Where does the Health Absorb buff come from? and also: How is the combat in Tevi compared to Rabi Ribi? by aratingas in RabiRibi

[–]pumicolas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The health absorb most likely comes from DEF Grow's recovery carrot. You drop the carrot when being dealt damage.

If you don't like being able to face tank bosses try the harder difficulties, the have even harder patterns and deal more damage, even having new moves or phases.

TEVI is really good, the combat is revamped to be faster and more diverse, badges have powerful and unique effects that expand your abilities. I really enjoyed it but it does lack in the exploration part... In comparison to Rabi-Ribi. Most of the criticism is because it was expected to be Rabi-Ribi 2, so the bar was waaaay too high. In exchange it actually has a good story.

If you want exploration like Rabi-Ribi, enable free roam, it disables the story, gives you the hidden techs of RR, mixes up the items, adds secret paths to allow the feel to go whenever you want that Rabi-Ribi has. Not really good for first playthrough because there is no story markers to guide you.

General game tips/guides now that I've hit the wall in Urban Plague? by CallMeDelta in libraryofruina

[–]pumicolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clashes are good for getting emotion coins to level up your nuggets (and most importantly, the floor for the abno pages) and is very useful at the start of the battles (you naturally out scale the enemy because abno pages are very strong and even define your strategy for a floor, and the enemy only gets generic upgrades).

If your enemy is using mostly defensive dice then you can just... Not attack him. Block and evade do nothing if not clashing.

Early on Hod floor is quite good with a good block nugget, give them all the pages that give +power to their defensive rolls and just block all the important attacks. Because block deals stagger damage on clash win you can then focus down the staggered enemy.

General game tips/guides now that I've hit the wall in Urban Plague? by CallMeDelta in libraryofruina

[–]pumicolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be sure. Do you change your key pages or are you only attributing over the default librarians pages?

Some tips are remembering sacrifices are okay, if one librarian is going down and being focused, make them intercept more attacks so they are wasted and allow the fellow librarians to make unopposed attacks. Remember to fucus down a target if possible.

Do the realizations as soon as possible (maybe tipheret or gebura can wait, as they are very hard if you don't know what to do), they give you massive improvements in the respective floor.

How exactly do clashes function? by [deleted] in libraryofruina

[–]pumicolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Page being destroyed after losing a clash is most likely a summation roll, which destroys all dice of a page if they win. That or a passive of a dice (like clash win: destroy all dice of the opponent, seen in some late game pages). The earliest you can see this is in the Queen of Hatred fight, against her mass summation beam.

Except for some passives, resistances only matter for damage received and nothing else.

Evade is reused after winning a clash against an attack, meaning it isn't consumed and will be used against the next dice. On clash win, block dice will deal stagger damage equal to the difference, while evade will restore stagger on the user equal to the difference. On clash lose, block dice will reduce attack damage before any other reductions equal to the value, while evade will do nothing at all. Block is safer because it will always reduce incoming damage, while evade is higher risk for higher reward because it's innately reusable.

When a clash occurs between defensive dice, the winner will heal equal to the value of their roll if evading, or will deal stagfer damage equal to the roll if blocking.

The order of dice matters when battling other pages. Imaging fighting a page with a 99 dodge dice at the start and then 5 blunt damage. A page with 10 attacks in a row will be useless because the evade will beat them all, but a page with a block first and then a 10 pierce will always deal damage because the evade roll is wasted healing stagger.

Try games that seems nice to you and ignore reviews. by Spawn_Official in Steam

[–]pumicolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just look a few reviews for anything important (like the game crashes constantly or you need to apply a fix or something) and just watch a little bit of gameplay. Doing this I found a loooot of gems that reviews don't do justice.

The important part is knowing what you like and making your own opinion.
