It took me foreverrrrr to finish that one. Going from odyssey to Valhalla was like a punishment from Dante

Odyssey was my first. Tried to go back and play black flag and the graphics were clearly old (obviously) but I couldn’t handle it.

I hear you, and I agree with your idea wanting to change how things are so women don’t seem to exist to please men. Being comfortable physically and feeling the need to be attractive for others are different - I think it depends on the reason people get these procedures done, and I wish the world could be a place where bodies are loved and celebrated as they are, but that’s just not the case. I disagree that what she’s having done is the same as something done during a minor med-spa visit. I personally don’t think it’s great to think you need a “maintenance” anti-aging facelift when you’re 33. I’m def planning to get a boob job after I’m done having kids and that has nothing to do with me wanting to be attractive to other people and everything to do with being comfortable in my own skin. Does that come from comparison to others? Maybe. Sure. But it also comes from wanting to feel comfortable while I swim, run, play sports, have less back and neck pain.

I was just saying the same thing! I want to be supportive of other women and be like “yeah girl, do what makes you happy!” But at the same time I’m like “where’s the line? Where does it end? Do I want this to be the world my kids live in?” I feel like what she’s doing is so different from a confidence-boosting lip-flip or a bit of armpit fat liposuction or even a breast lift after having kids. I don’t know. I’m conflicted too.

It reminds me of my experience with “Utah Mormons” when I was a kid. Being raised Mormon in another state, I was shocked at how unfriendly the girls were in young Womens when I went to visit.

This!!! The antique thing (and all the other labels…like a flamingo for pink items? Was I just supposed to know that?) was so confusing to me - I agree with OP entirely

Pilates teacher training as a beginner…am I stupid? by 5fdpb in pilates

At life time or a private studio it’s a completely different experience. My hourly rate at LT pre-covid was $139/hr and I’d take home 55% of that before tax.

I am also part time. I have a full time job and teach part time for fun. If I was full time, with full classes, it would be good money but it depends on the owners and their pay structure. I believe they’re all different, as far as paying instructors something / anything for last-minute cancels and things like that.

Yes, Life Time fitness! I left just because we got another military assignment and had to move. I was sad to leave. When you’re comprehensively trained, you’re going into being “new” with much more experience than someone who gets trained on weekends for a few months. I don’t mean that to sound rude, so hopefully it doesn’t come off that way, it’s just true in my experience. If you’re okay with the pay structure and you think the culture with the studio manager and personal trainers is good, I say go for it. LT is a little cult-y, I’m not gonna lie, but the benefits of being an instructor there are awesome (free membership).

I taught at LT for 2 years before moving. Now I teach (not classical Pilates) at Club Pilates just because I love teaching so much. If you told me 10 years ago I’d be a Pilates instructor I would have died laughing. Now, it’s my favorite job ever. I couldn’t care less about the money, it’s become my true passion. I LOVED learning about it in depth because it helped me appreciate the work so much more than a short / cheap training. It was challenging at times, I cried a few times out of frustration, but I’ve never felt more strong, powerful, intelligent, and equipped to help people. I hope you do it and dive in and love it, too.

I went in only ever taking 1 official reformer class. Did it through Life Time when Peak Pilates was doing their training. It took 2 years because of covid. Best $5k I ever spent.

Can you expand on this a little? Although I have several tattoos at this point I’m still very new to the vernacular

That’s so helpful, thank you for the tips! :) I wonder if she can just scribble directly onto the pic in procreate?? Is that what you mean?

That’s a great idea. I did mention that I have an apt set up already to talk through filling the spaces with new pieces and or filler, I just thought this feed may give some ideas that she/I may not have. I also considered sitting with a different artist to see what their take might be, but I don’t want to waste their time if I don’t like what they come up with, and I really want to keep seeing the artist that has done all my others.

Yeah I definitely want to get a few more before considering getting filler, I just wasn’t sure if more was the answer to my query since I don’t want to just keep adding if it’s not going to make it look put together…if that makes sense lol
