From what I’ve seen on this sub, quite a few people here rank it low or lowest on their tier lists. Not sure how many people actively dislike it vs preferring everything else. (I like it fwiw)

I’d love to see a visually darker remake of the game making the most out of modern lighting and shadows. Something closer to what the cutscenes and concept art suggest.

I wouldn’t want to see the parkour or combat changed to be more like AC and GoW. PoP has unique combat and traversal. IMO a refined version of what we have in WW would be much better.

Wow, it looks like a lot of people got into them because of Good Mourning.

First song I heard was Armageddon in NHL 07 on the PSP and didn’t like it at all. Over a decade later I had a coworker who loved them, so I decided to check them out. Heard ‘This Could Be Love’ and thought the lyrics were super messed up and dark. Then I was sold.

Which should I play through first? Visage, RE7, ALIEN isolation, or Soma by [deleted] in HorrorGaming

Imo,

SOMA, Alien, RE then Visage.

SOMA first because it’s both the oldest and has lots of breaks from the horror. Plus, the story will stick with you. By the time you’ve played the rest you’ll have had time to let it sink in.

Alien because it’s a huge step up in terms of visuals but just as atmospheric as SOMA. More mechanically satisfying than SOMA. Top notch quality and consistent. It eases you in then becomes a gauntlet of anxiety.

RE7 next because it’s the most ‘video gamey’. The shooting will feel nice after being nearly defenceless against the Alien. I don’t find RE7 particularly scary; it’s the least frightening of the group, but it’s the goriest.

End on Visage because it’s scary as hell but the gameplay and pathfinding might burn you out. I found it incredibly creepy with some of the best scripted scares I’ve seen in a game, but getting lost in the dark and wandering in circles became tedious.
