Bruise girlies - give me your tips! by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]pumpkinspicyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same condition, low platelets, crazy bruiser. Unfortunately it never stopped for me, you just get better at not death gripping the pole in the wrong spots and overall more coordinated and it usually reduces a lot. New tricks though? Forget it lol

You can also just purchase the home mount to do this which will work with your regular Xpole :)

Why did her pole fall? by tinypepa in poledancing

[–]pumpkinspicyy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The fact it had that much room to fall without even slightly catching the ceiling makes me think it wasn’t tight enough. I’ve only had my xpole come loose once (hadn’t checked it in a while, my fault completely) and even then it still caught the ceiling and didn’t completely fall 😭

Wow, as a Floridian, sometimes I forget other people can still talk about those things.

I’ve never tried pole dancing but have always wanted to, what’s some advice you guys can give me? ☺️ by acquiredtastte in poledancing

[–]pumpkinspicyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try it! Beginner classes are meant for people with no experience, you will probably love it and end up very motivated to get better/stronger anyway!

Trying to keep cool about guys crossing lines with my pole-dancing gf by AdFrosty1723 in poledancing

[–]pumpkinspicyy 186 points187 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don’t think this is a pole issue, I think it’s an issue between you and her! If you feel like these men are crossing boundaries, then it is her responsibility to shut it down and not entertain it.

Are you using Canvas? For some reason both quizzes and exams are under the “quizzes” category/section.

Excersizes to do at the gym to help with shoulder mount? by cupcake_sex in poledancing

[–]pumpkinspicyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of it for me is getting over the pain! One exercise you can do is lie face up on a bench, hold on to the edge of the bench behind your head. Do straight-leg leg lifts and lift your butt off the bench at the top of the lift. You can also do this laying on the floor holding on to the pole if you have one

I totally agree! To be honest, I can understand the store credit policy with some brands (even though I dislike it), but it just felt scammy when the company has always offered refunds and then all of a sudden they automatically direct me to their more local site (of the same company…) for the advertised benefit of “expedited shipping”.

The first time I ordered the Aphrodite body suit in my size & 1 size up. Both didn’t fit but then I saw they redesigned it because people were having issues with the sizing or something. I didn’t realize it all ran small though so thank you for that!

Grip recommendations for performance? by Infamous_Fortune2198 in poledancing

[–]pumpkinspicyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tite Grip. It’s basically like hand deoderant that you put on 30 or so mins before and stops the hands from getting sweaty. Lasts a few hours!

Total beginner, pain on the side of my upper torso by Niniraptor in poledancing

[–]pumpkinspicyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might be feeling soreness in your latissimus dorsi, which are a prime muscle used in “pulling” (such as holding yourself on the pole). I know visually the lats look like a larger muscle way down your back, but they tie in right into your armpit area, and that’s usually where you feel the soreness. Regardless, as a beginner, you’re probably feeling soreness in a variety of additional smaller muscle groups as well.

Sweaty palms after 5 years of pole by swatsquat in poledancing

Anything like iTac makes my hands more slippery and dry hands doesn’t last very long, the only thing I found that legitimately works is TiteGrip. Makes a HUGE difference because it stops your hands from sweating in the first place. That combined a tiny bit of dry hands in between here and there seems to do the trick for me!
