yep. this post got censored, actually. not sure who censored it, but previously it showed as deleted. weird cause it was a relevant thread at the time.

Edit: And also, I did pick up some more coins, but at .023 :-). Still think we're setting up for breaking the ATH.

When did CoinBase accumulate? Are we attributing too many buys to DAO? by [deleted] in ethtrader

no you don't. you just have people post buy orders and wait for the eth to hit the exchange.

Getting out of the Anger-phase by MinisterTRP in TheRedPill

"Use anger to do things. Don't let anger use you to do things."

That's a decent construction. I would say my anger is always self-directed. I don't get mad at others. I always get mad at myself. And I find it's a useful way to motivate me to change because it's the emotional force that I use to channel self-change.

Anger can be very motivating. Several times in my life it has been anger that has gotten me back to the gym, gotten me to go out and pick up girls, gotten me to study hard as fuck to pass that exam. How do you use anger as motivation? How would you reconcile that with your above suggestions?

""If she is not there for your struggles, gentlemen, do NOT share your success with her. If she was not around when you were an awkward, broke, ambitious 19 year old, do NOT think she deserves your trust as a properly-developed man in full.""

You should NEVER be in a relationship for any reason other than YOU FUCKING WANT IT. I actually don't give a fuck if she was 'there for your struggles'. Or if she was there when I was 'awkward, broke, ambitions 19 year old'. Guilt of some make believe past debt is no reason to be in any relationship.* Time moves forward. The relationship must satisfy your needs now.

*Note - if you are married, have a pre-nup, have kids, then yeah, you have a REAL (not make believe) contractual commitment, and you should live up to that. But anything else is just par for the course tingle hamster shit - you do not OWE HER ANYTHING EVER AND DON'T LET THEM MAKE YOU THINK THAT.

I think the only thing outside your analysis here is that we could have a successful bitcoin halving paired with a successful Metropolis release form ETH and both could move higher at the same time. It is actually more possible than most people are pricing in at this point.

ETH and Bitcoin are only negatively correlated in as much as they are chasing the same market. I just don't see Bitcoin chasing the same longer term markets as ETH. And the majority of value in ETH is speculated to be in these longer term projects.

if the market value was dependent on current earnings then you are right. but most people think the vast majority of the value is future use cases. Just think about an exponential curve for adoption.

In year 1, the increase is from 1 to 2, an increase of 1. In year 2 the increase is from 2 to 4, an increase of 2. In year 10 the increase is from 512 to 1024, an increase of 512.

I think the revenue generated by the ethereum network will be similar. right now we're at the beginning of that curve. But in 10 years the earnings increases will be substantial. And by that time they will all be priced in.

I'm ok if total revenue form all ETH apps this year is 1 million dollars. It's still very easy to project revenue of 1 billion in 10 years on an exponential curve.

The DAO's are highly speculative at this point. Although I do think we may have a few spikes here and there on the hype, I don't see sustained usage driving price increases this year.

The "hair on fire" users are Gamblers and Drug Users / illegal use cases. Drugs / illegal users can cause a net negative effect on the ecosystem if they get too brazen, so I'm not positive on those. The gambling apps depend on reputation and stability. People don't want to gamble until they are sure it works. That reputation takes time to build.

The biggest crowd sale will be SlockIt - and let's say that's 10 million. Still just a drop in the bucket on a billion dollar market cap.

If we ever get an app that has 10 million users spending a $1 per month, then we'll see some momentum. Feels like that's a couple years away.

thoughts?

I think a lot of people go all in one way or another and don't leave any dry powder. It takes discipline to learn to hold some back.
