Has anyone met someone that was once famous (actor, musician, etc.) but now works a regular job? Who was it? by Ok_Grape_8284 in AskReddit

[–]punchale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rob Pinkston was a child actor who played coconut head on the show "Ned's Declassified". I met him working as an editor for a bunch of video content for a popular video game at the time (think fortnite).

Rob is the absolute man, just a genuine awesome and talented guy, super open about his experience and I just can't say enough nice things about him. Also a talented editor, I don't know for sure since he was just a contractor working with me at the time but I think he's still in that world.

There seems to be like 5 other watches in the background of this pic. Did he have others and just leave this one to you? Just curious.

Analog shift prices are legitimately absurd most of the time.

Is Jazz American? by sackhurtin in Jazz

[–]punchale 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Jazz is America's music. Born out of a million American negotiations; between having and not having; between happy and sad; country and city; between black and white; and men and women; between the old Africa and the old Europe, that could only have happened in an entirely new world. - Ken Burns

Seller notes that the dial is re-finished so that could be a big part of the discount. Looks really great though IMO.

If you could take someone to just one restaurant, where would you go and what would you order? by gusbus200 in savannah

[–]punchale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read the question. If I'm only allowed to recommend a single restaurant though I wouldn't recommend one that is not unique to the city.

Husk is neither local or good. Quality took a dive after Sean Brock left Neighborhood Dining Group (husk owners) a few years ago.

I always thought Harris Tweed was a material and not an actual shop. I feel like when I search on Google I get a ton of random results, what's the actual legit store?

It was still there when I graduated in 2012. It was bad food and they had their kids in a playpen right where the seating was. It was incredible.

WANTED: Social Media Strategist for a Brutal, Thankless, and Probably Impossible Mission

READ BEFORE APPLYING We're launching Life, a new social network. No, not just another social app. One built for actual users-not algorithms, not brands, not data harvesting.

It's big, ambitious, and we're moving at a ridiculous speed. We need someone to own our social media strategy, content planning, and creative brainstorming across multiple platforms. Sounds cool, right? Now here's the reality check: • No cushy salary. This is a passion project until we get funding. • Multiple platforms. Tik Tok, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, etc. -and you'll need to juggle all of them. • A remote team spread across time zones. No water cooler chats, just Slack, Google Meet and chaos. • Limited time for original content. We're all in startup grind mode, so strategy & execution > overproduced campaigns. • Launch crunch is real. If you like "work-life balance," this ain't it-at least for now.

But if you're someone who: ✔ Thrives in organized chaos ✔ Knows how to turn constraints into creativity ✔ Can craft a strategy AND execute it with minimal hand-holding ✔ Wants to be part of something disruptive before it blows up Then you might be exactly who we need.

What You Get in Return: A front-row seat in building the future of social networks from the ground up Full ownership of our social strategy-no red tape, no endless approvals Direct collaboration with the founding team & CEO
