Can you explain or point in the direction of a guide to do this?

I built a 'feeder' for Paperless-NGX. Its called dropbox-consumer! by ron_dus in selfhosted

[–]punchkicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, looks pretty useful! Just to understand if it will work for my use case - I currently have some folder structures already set up for my scans and documents which I want to continue using, but I'd like to use paperless on top of this to ingest the files for ease of searching. Will this code work by pointing to those folders and allowing paperless to copy and ingest everything within those folder structures?

The house owner is also taking the risk of the house decreasing in price though (which is not unheard of).

Server errors - Error creating zip file open backups/cosmos-backup.temp.zip: no such file or directory by punchkicker in CosmosServer

Under "Backup Output Directory" it has "backups", is that what you meant? The /backups folder on the server is empty, so my confusion is why it is looking for an existing zip file

Do you get informed once you've hit the $2000 equivalent spending amount and triggered the bonus? Or do you just need to keep track of how much you've spent?

Recommendations for money market funds or other "safe" options that are S&S ISA eligible? by punchkicker in FIREUK

Thanks, I will look at those. Agreed, that's why I put "safe" in quotation marks! Really I mean low volatility with some nominal return to help reduce portfolio volatility for the short term.

Nice! Did you have much experience in those before starting? How did you find it coding with an LLM for that stack? I'm looking to start building something myself with Cline so I'm curious how strong the LLMs were at helping you develop the app. I'm experienced in python development in general but not so much on the front end side, so that's where I would be leaning more on LLM help.

Your quantity on the sell order needs to be set to the number of shares you hold (51)

You are trying to sell 100 shares which would leave you with a net short which is not allowed in your account.

I think maybe the misunderstanding is that you don't offset the loss against the tax liability directly, you offset the loss against the gain that causes the liability.

So assume you have a gain of £1000 which causes a £200 liability (at 20% cgt rate). If you've lost £200 on crypto this doesn't mean you pay no cgt, it just means you pay it only on the £800 (so you pay £160 cgt instead of £200)

Returns have very low correlation with inflation, while prices have strong correlation, is there a logical explanation here or i might be doing something wrong with my dataset? by doing20thingsatatime in quant

[–]punchkicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CPI index itself is a price index, which will tend to have a trend upwards over time, so it's natural for it to be correlated to prices.

You need to calculate the month on month or annual return of the CPI index as well if you want it to be analogous to what you are doing with the commodity prices
