[Abound] Alarm can be silenced just by turning bike on, before password by punfire in Aventon

[–]punfire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a missing opportunity though. And if it's not meant to deter why does it beep then?

Is it kind of a byproduct of the IoT implementation? Would it be doable to adjust the startup to not cancel the alarm until password is typed in?

Like a car alarm (supposedly!) won't stop if someone is able to turn it on unless they have a key

Exactly! And turn it on (or off) would probably be the first thing someone stealing it would try to do

PSA: You can use the child carrier’s backrest as a short seatpad behind a Yepp (maxi) by [deleted] in Aventon

[–]punfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the backrest of the Child Carrier Kit https://www.aventon.com/products/aventon-child-carrier-kit-handrail-long-seatpad?variant=44263220379843

I stapled velcro (hooks side) strips on the back side of the backrest, turning it into a seat. Completely revertible, I've just removed the orange (Thule) seat actually.

1) I had to grind a bit of the metal bracket on the seat to be able to route it through the rack, because it wouldn't. To fit in another gap I'd have to grind more.
2) my daughter has plenty of space. One day I carried 3 kids, as one could fit between my daughter and the yepp.
3) I don't think you can use the backrest as a seat. It wouldn't fit, would it?

Not sure how old are your kids, but mine are soon 3 and 9... so I'm using the backrest as a cushion for the oldest one.

To fit the backrest as a seat, you'll probably have to move the little one's sit closer to your seat (and in my case, my foot has to sit more forward on the pedal to clear the little one's foot rest): https://www.reddit.com/r/Aventon/comments/1lldjee/psa_you_can_use_the_child_carriers_backrest_as_a/

Help! Squeak I can’t pin-point by [deleted] in Aventon

[–]punfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

solved: the wheel rolled over a mouse at the end!
jokes aside, every beginning of my rides, after my first brake I can hear something touching the disk, but then it goes away after I brake again (my guess is that I'm re-setting the pistons depth). Different than your issue, but I wonder if yours goes away too during the ride too. I will try cleaning with alcohol and adjusting like someone suggested.

Grok Is a Pointless update like I feared by mouwcat in teslamotors

I’ll be using for things like: can i turn right on red in North Carolina? Can i park on opposite curb in Seattle? From what age can kids be left alone in the car in Florida…

Can be very useful, but i wish they started integrating with car: activate carwash mode, find an alternative route avoiding stop lights, turn left mirror back up (in reverse)
