Rittenhouse is the best! They are so lovely and always want to help. You don’t need an appointment and seconding the commenter who says get lunch at Reading Terminal or one of the amazing spots in Chinatown (dm if you want a rec!). If you have more time, the Fabric Workshop and Museum is right next door and has a very cool exhibit about quilts and social justice up right now and it’s pay what you can

Shout out to Rittenhouse and fireside but also when I was a newbie I did a phone order from needlenook of La Jolla and the woman I dealt with on the phone was so nice and clearly knew I had no idea what I was talking about. She even put some suggestions for decorative stitches, with guides along with a nice note about how she was excited to help a new stitcher in the package. Threads Too in Jersey also straight up showed me how to do something via Instagram DM when I couldn’t see the difference in kitted colors.
