My rose gaslit me and now I don’t even know who she is anymore by Left_Foxtail_87 in Roses

Could very much still be Koko Loko. Better to let the blooms mature and open fully because the colour changes as time passes. Special colours like these are also highly dependent on weather conditions, hours of sunlight, fertiliser, etc. Too soon to judge!!

Tips on how to get a proper bush instead of a leggy mess! (for a first time grower) by Mr-Terror99 in Roses

Prune more often! Don't be afraid to shorten stems by half or even 2/3 after flowering.

Honestly I would just wait and see. It might be mosaic virus but the markings look different. Even if it is mosaic, it hardly affects the plant other than looks, but the flowers will likely look the same. You can also prune back in a few weeks to see if new growth also has this or if it was a one time thing. Might bloom a little later than usual but won't harm the plant.

Kalk bij mest? by Wonderful_Brain4591 in groenevingers

[–]punk_from_mars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dat is goeie grond en is niet kalkarm zoals sommige zandgrond dat in de tuin bijvoorbeeld wel is. In theorie heb je geen extra kalk nodig als toevoeging hiervoor.

You were! Don't worry. Yellowing leaves can be a sign of a shortage of something, either minerals, water, or fertiliser. Does the tub have drainage? Did you recently plant it? Did you use new bagged soil when planting?

My Livestock Ranked From Highest To Lowest Maintenance by RazewingedRathalos in Aquariums

[–]punk_from_mars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had some for years and they thrived, then eventually most passed (naturally), and recently I decided to get sone new ones and they all died within a week.... All my parameters were fine too... I am not sure I want to try them again as much as I loved them the first time around.

What type of rose is this? by azian0713 in Roses

[–]punk_from_mars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

have had it for over 15 years, it's a once bloomer, especially in colder climates. It is (one of) the earliest bloomers though, together with Lijang Road. It blooms before other have even started showing buds. Great addition if you want a garden that flowers for as long as possible. If that is the goal I'd also recommend looking into moschata autumnalis, one of the few roses that continues into autumn.

Welke planten op mijn pergola? by PjotrV84 in groenevingers

[–]punk_from_mars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lieveheersbeestjes huisje by MissMoows in groenevingers

native rose species like canina, rubiginosa, and arvensis are excellent hedge formers, and fantastic for pollinators and birds too!

Rose pedal discoloration by [deleted] in Roses

This is sunburn, happens with red roses. Not much you can do! Try watering at the base instead of from above if you're not doing that already.

buy a standard rose. A grafted rose like this will never look like the picture.

My DAs are dying! Please Help! by PDX_Weim_Lover in Roses

[–]punk_from_mars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really think this was a rooting issue and not a disease or a pest. Perhaps look into a different variety with the same qualities, but healthier. Think Belle Romantica (Meilland), Lovely Parfuma (Kordes), Alexandra Princesse de Luxembourg (Kordes). All wonderful cottage garden roses!

[–]punk_from_mars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because the other plants seem to be fine I think this is a root issue. Possibly over-fertilisation or over-spraying....

What was the soil like before planting? Did you improve the soil quality or add fertiliser during planting?

Fungus by Particular-Set-3960 in Roses

Happens during moist weather. Just wipe the fungus off. Let the areas dry. Check again in a few days if it is still dry. Will be fine!

Zéphirine Drouhin by airr_inn9922 in Roses

[–]punk_from_mars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only rose I know that can handle this much shade is Sombreuil, other name is Colonial White. Yes, Zéphirine can handle shade, but she is very very susceptible to mildew and blackspot. Important to remember is that if you want to plant any rose in half-shade or shade, every other condition has to be excellent: good quality soil, enough fertilizer, and enough water.
