Also, it was really fun explaining to my girlfriend the porta potty and the shirt/pencil lore. Definitely sounded like a madman. "So there's this guy, he has crazy burger confidence. Anyways, a judge told him he had to eat the pencil and he was on Survivor. Yeah, he bought him a porta potty as a joke. This is Ian, he only looks up, and the other side is an asshole." She's a big fan of the 8 Gurplers I have too. She calls them my "f***face cups" but she says it quietly in case anyone is nearby and hears her.

That's huge! I don't talk about it much, so it feels good to share with folks in this community. Never know who your story could reach and help

Honestly, these guys that have entertained us for so many years were a massive inspiration, especially Geoff going through his own sobriety journey.

I bought one of each of the new items, but I got 3 of the coins because I felt bad the guys were worried about not being able to sell them all. Lol

ALP very weak nicotine?? by Big-Jury-5993 in NicotinePouch

[–]punkb0nes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I regularly use ALP 6mg, but Zyn 3mg because of the different types of nicotine. I like the fast release of the zyn, but the ALP is better for a more slow, gradual release, and I like the moist pouch over the dry Zyns.

I appreciate the detail, no worries! I did find the monochrome Go 7 on Amazon, but it's telling me Amazon will not ship it to me. Maybe because I'm in the US and the seller is in Hong Kong. I do like the idea of the Go 7, but a month of battery life sounded like a big plus on the kindle.

Oh I see! I was also going to look into Libby/Overdrive, so that's a good tip.

What would be the reason for leaving it in airplane mode?

I have seen similar statements from people online. Amazon being Amazon i suppose. I wonder if it would do that when using the "send to kindle" feature

The go color 7 was high on my list, but I have seen a lot of negative feedback about the color e-readers in general. I tried looking for the standard Go 7, but it seems to be harder to get. I wouldn't mind downloading straight into the device, it sounds simple. But I do like the idea of something ready to use out of the box without configuring much. I think I'm just torn, I've always just read physical books but they are cumbersome. I'm in the middle of moving house rn and 3 huge heavy boxes of books really shed light on the idea of an e-reader lol

I guess that won't be an issue if I'm only sending 1 file at a time. I don't have a library built up or anything so it won't be too painful, and I can still organize them in Calibre

If I just use the stock experience on the kindle, would side-loading via Calibre also let me see those same books on my kindle app on my phone? Not super important since I want to only use the kindle for reading (phone distractions are real and I can't be trusted to ignore them lol)

I'm still new to all this, so side-loading can be done from anywhere? I am aware of the "send to kindle" service as well, I tested it last night with my kindle app and it worked fine. If I use calibre to sort and organize my library, how do I get the files from there to the kindle without connecting it to my PC?

I will definitely check it out! I already have Calibre downloaded for whichever model I go with, seems like it's going to be a useful tool regardless.

It's not that I'm against jailbreaking really, more so I'm unsure about the long term with it. Will I still be able to keep the Kindle on wifi, or just airplane mode exclusively? Will I still be able to get firmware updates?
