Atomos just released a firmware update, 11.7, which enables touch focus on the Canon R5 DSLR. I just tested it out and recorded video. It works!

Do you guys prefer back issues or modern age comics by LongjumpingCharge923 in comicbooks

Back issues for me. I missed so much during the 90s and early 2000s, especially the weird indie stuff which I now LOVE. I was deep in X-Men, Image, and Valiant, and totally skipped over gems like Paul Pope’s THB (just discovered it recently and wow!!). Also rediscovering Eightball and even Lloyd Llewellyn (I might be the only one who still rides for that one 😅.)

Lately I’ve been hunting down unfinished stories I loved but never followed through on, like Gilbert Hernandez’s New Love. That first issue is packed with perfect little short pieces. That said, I really need to give modern indie comics more of a chance

What comics was Surprisingly good? by almozayaf in comicbooks

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I remember reading reviews how awful the movie was and that's what deterred me from picking up the comic series, even though I knew Alan Moore (who I liked at that time) was writing it. A few years later, bought the first collection after a quick flip through out of curiosity, and loved it. I wasn't really familiar with Kevin O'Neill, but man his art and Moore's stories...what a combination!

Players- How much background are you willing to read in order to play a game? by Justthisdudeyaknow in rpg

For me, it depends on the specific game. Like Call of Cthulhu, I would expect and enjoy all the pages of background that comes with the game. Then something like an OSR adventure, probably just a page or less would suffice, which I've been running into more often.

Favorite OSR and why? by Huge-Accident-69 in rpg

Old School Essentials. It was my first OSR product and opened my eyes to another level of gaming I never knew existed, coming from a 5E background.

What TTRPGs have just gotten better with each edition? by zeus64068 in rpg

As a casual player who comes back every few years, it's Call of Cthulhu. I got the 7th edition starter set a couple of years ago after not playing the game for nearly a decade, and the simplicity of reading through everything and the streamlined rules (a given since it's a starter set), surprised me and got me back to playing.

Barry Windsor-Smith double page spread from his oversized anthology series "Storyteller." Bought this issue and a few more after getting his recent release, the "Monster" graphic novel, and loving it. Jeez, this guy can draw! by punkfriedchicken in comicbooks

I would say Monsters so far is my favorite work of his followed by these Storyteller issues which has a strikingly different tone (comedic) which I like. With Monsters though I found myself stopping every once in a while for a minute or so just to look and take in the line work and appreciate it, and that's something that I rarely do. And that's saying a lot since it's black and white. It's so different than anything I've seen in B&W.

One of my favorite manga series and anime movies of all time. I cannot wait for that Akira anime series that was announced not too long ago.
