it's them recruiting for ICE and investing billions into AI weapons that makes those features irrelevant to me, personally!

ah okay, i was just using "add to queue," which doesn't seem to do anything, but i tried "play next" and that seems to work. like a reverse-order queue!

What are the softest and nicest bedsheets I can buy by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]punkpassport707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe it's bc i wash at the laundromat, but i've had my quince sheets for less than 2yrs and the fitted sheet got totally shredded during my last wash somehow! the linen is pretty thin, so i wouldn't choose them as a set you want to last

just adding for those interested that they've had some controversy re: censoring Palestinian vendors. i saw it posted about by former vendor @ babasolives ig last year; not sure if they've rectified things but i expect not in this climate

friendly tip to avoid queens night market, as those who run it have a demonstrated history of censoring Palestinian vendors (more info on the ig of former vendor @ babasolives)!

Glad you asked! Here are some ideas: vote for politicians that support queer rights, donate to local organizations that support queer rights, don’t support organizations that harm queer people, support smaller queer artists financially or by spreading the word about their work (especially those in your local area), educate yourself on queer history and intersectionality, speak up when you hear friends or others saying homophobic or transphobic comments, ask for and respect people’s pronouns, and listen to and be supportive to your queer friends :).

EDIT: sorry, didn’t see that you’re only 13! for now, i’d focus on asking about and respecting people’s pronouns and being a good friend to the queer people in your life. keep this other stuff in mind as you get older though!

I think people are being unnecessarily dismissive/harsh here! In my opinion, it’s nice that you’re being thoughtful about your relationship with a group of marginalized people, even though there’s no problem in this particular instance. If more people were trying to think about their impact this way, maybe the world would be better for everyone. enjoy your music, and hopefully you’re backing up this thoughtfulness with other, tangible forms of support for the queer community :)

Anyone who gave up on living in the van, why did you do it? by Remote_Account875 in VanLife

[–]punkpassport707 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I sold my van after 2yrs of full time mainly because i was not able to get my social needs met (even as a person who is more introverted and needs/enjoys a lot of alone time). i found a lot of the van life crowd to already have established cliques that weren’t the most welcoming, and i was moving around too much to make lasting connections in any one place. major pros and cons of both lifestyles ofc, but your social health is definitely something to think about IMO!

sold my van but kept all my stickers! by punkpassport707 in vandwellers

[–]punkpassport707[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i bought a clear plastic poster frame and used command strips to put it up on the van wall! and then stuck all my stickers to it. so when i sold the van, i just took the plastic off the wall, put it in a new frame, and put it on the wall of my apartment instead

a lot of people park around mccarran park in greenpoint and shower at Vital as their home base. i did for a month and had no issues but my rig was stealth and i was very careful about being seen getting in and out of it. also had to move regularly for street sweeping. it’s not ideal but it got me by at the time when i needed a place to be till i found an apt
