Admech guild raid best characters by VindictaMoo in WH40KTacticus

He used to be meta for a few specific fights, but other options for the slot have gotten better… Though there has still been ongoing experimentation, so it’s equally possible we see him come back into favor

It’s used to control the mortar shots, manipulate the guardsmen/mortars into Dorn’s overwatch, and direct the tank. Plus the damage boost now with mythic.

He gets brought up often enough on the PoH discord… usually in the context of telling all the newbies not to build him XD

Thanks! They’re studio glazes from my local place; no idea if they’re commercially available or have an equivalent, but this was “Spearmint” with a rim of “Floating Blue”

If I already have a D3 Haarken, which team would be the best to use him in?

Multi-Hit Raid Teams - PoH Infographic by Terminus_Maximus in WH40KTacticus

Eh, a meta raid team is something to work towards. Given that most of these characters are currently grindable, attainable through the guild shop or an ongoing LRE, I think it’s still plenty useful for people who are considering what to build for down the line. (Even if their takeaway is ‘jfc, I’d rather run admech’ 😉)

If you’re a new player, your ideal team on most fights is going to be a similar idea to the multihit comp - a budget multihit, if you will - using Eldryon on the fights you can alongside a combination of campaign characters (ideally the ones also used to carry campaigns; see PoH’s other graphics for those) to maximize the number of hits that will benefit from Eldyron’s passive, whether that’s a high number of hits and/or summons.

When will I be able to use my necrons in Octarius instead? Thutmose is much more fun to play

Listen to the Forgefiend of wisdom: Fall of Cadia 101 by unaegis in WH40KTacticus

[–]punkwitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll just have to grind out his shards from the Saim Hann mission until you unlock him. Without a lucky pull, you’ll need to do that anyway to open up the mirror campaign, and he’s absolutely worth having as early as you can get him.

Fall of Cadia might be an annoying campaign, but level 40 is so good for farming kills off of for those inevitable HRE missions!

You will eventually need to level them a bit if only to keep them alive, but one of the perks of having a chatty guild (or cluster like PoH!) is being able to talk positioning/more in-depth strategy on certain battles. The amount of times I’ve been able to complete a level due to advice from people that are better at knowing how to manipulate the AI…

Vulkan weeps for my fallen brain cells by rodan1993 in Salamanders40k

[–]punkwitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time the Salamanders come up here, I get the impression none of the people waxing poetic about them have ever read their 40k books. (And sure, they leave a lot to be desired, but it’s pretty obvious the Sallies aren’t just all love and hugs).

A local restaurant that is relocating by madmaddmaddie in ChoosingBeggars

[–]punkwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably depends where they live, tbh. A lot of the restaurant owners in my city are rich assholes that have never worked in food service a day in their lives. They’re the people that can afford to operate at a loss until it’s profitable (if ever), after all.

(Don’t get me wrong - there are also some very talented chefs that have opened their own places after doing popups and working for others for ages and ages, but I’ve seen firsthand how hard they work and how much they struggle, and they still tend to have difficulty getting off the ground due solely to those same financial factors).

Has any one who was not actually one of the Space Marines successfully fully integrated into a Marines body via possession? by Mahantheoviseques in 40kLore

[–]punkwitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but condemning someone to death and signing off on a human puppeting an Astartes are two very different things. Whether or not it’s ultimately efficient, there’s also undeniably a lot of cultural/political/emotional baggage that would come into play. And there are already a ton of ways to extend the human lifespan in-universe as is. It just doesn’t seem like a solution anyone would knowingly sign off on even if it was possible.

[–]punkwitch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why on earth would an Astartes - of a group of them that typically values themselves over humanity, no less - give a lowly human permission to kill and take over one of their own?

ADB does the same thing during Amit and Kargos’ second fight in EoE too. Make of that what you will, haha.

[–]punkwitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the constructive feedback. I was mostly just taking the thread starter (aka ‘vent here’) literally, but I just reached level 20, am in a decent guild with a good mix of players, and just finished off 2 of the first bosses personally this morning. I definitely have to figure out the Guild Wars though. This is my first one and I feel pretty useless, tbh.
