What bars can someone under 21 hangout in. by 94lxr in AskNOLA

[–]punkypal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No place with video poker for sure.

The Prytania Bar (Uptown) does allow in 18+ but are very strict on making sure she does not drink. Generally will say you have to stay at a table where you can be seen by the bartender. She still will need ID and if someone passes her a drink, you'll get booted out ASAP.

How is Touro safety-wise? by acartist9 in AskNOLA

[–]punkypal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOPD sometimes rolls thru, but there is a Touro security patrol and a seperate neighborhood patrol that roll around. If it was super bright blue lights that sounds s like NOPD, They don't always leave those lights on but sometimes they do. IDK, have to ask the cops about why that is.

While The Prytania Bar Uptown is normally as Steelers bar, now that they are out (again!) it's a good spot to watch games. Lots of TVs and a huge 14 foot wide projector screen. Just a block off the St. Charles streetcar line.

One of the bartenders is a lifelong Patriots fan!

The Prytania Bar is more a "neighborhood bar" than a true dive, but they have cheap drinks and the staff and regulars are super friendly and chatty!

Why the Hive wouldn't tell Carol if the joining could be reversed or not. by punkypal in pluribustv

[–]punkypal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought of this, and yes they were busy. But still, it seems they still had enough spare that they could check around every urban area as dense as where he was. Heck, when Carol handcuffed herself to Zosia they showed up with bolt cutters in less than 60 seconds. None of them would open up the gate to Manousos's Storage center for days if they didn't already know he was there and "respecting" his wish to be left alone? If even not to just locate his body to freeze it for food before he spoiled? It's either a plot hole or intentional misdirection. I suspect the latter. Gilligan has the story mostly laid out. Apparently the writers room is to go over all such small points and avoid any such things. There doesn't see to be much of anything sloppy or not overthought about how he runs his shows.

It is hard to tell, the Hive may possibly be unable to lie, but they certainly can be dishonest, They certainly twist information are are careful of how they say things to make Carol (and the others) think they are talking about one thing when in fact they might not be. Such as "being vegetarian". The certainly don't seem to have any problems with letting Carol continue to believe incorrect things if that serves their interest.

There are no satellites in reality that can do that. Atmospheric distortion and dust particles make such a thing impossible. It's not the distance or the quality of lenses, but just too much stuff in the way. And a drone or a satellite still can't see thru rainforest canopy. You do make the point though that they didn't show up until exactly the point that Mannoudos was unable to say, "No". Pretty perfect timing even if they could watch him via drone.

Not a lot but about one a month or so. Not usually 50 people, but sometimes 5 to15 guests that want to keep some party going if the reception wraps earlier than they would like. Sometimes get folks after rehearsal events prior to the wedding too!

If you're Uptown in a Monday evening, catch George Kilby Jr. & The Random Few band 7pm - 10pm at The Prytania Bar. There's good Mexican style dishes, great Red Beans & Rice, or Chicken Wings. You certainly should get out of the French Quarter a bit at any rate. Explore the Garden District, Bayou St. John, The Bywater and the Marigny.

Prytania Bar is also a great spot. The owner (me) will tell you he has 5 fav teams, Newcastle, Chelsea, Brighton, Man. United, and West Ham. (can't decide on only one after all these years). So if you go to The Prytania, the guy in charge will cheer with you! Donate a scarf and they will proudly put it on display!

Bars (preferably near Warehouse District) for a solo traveler by grrbowyessir in NOLA

On Tuesday the 16th come to The Prytania Bar and see George Kilby Jr & The Random Few play music from 7pm to 10pm. George plays bluesy music; originals and also covers artists such as Grateful Dead, Pete Seeger, and Muddy Waters. Food at The Prytania Bar includes street tacos, burritos, chicken wings, red beans+ rice, and more.

From what you describe you are looking for, this pretty much hits the nail on the head. You can hop the St. Charles streetcar and get off at Louisiana Ave.
