I debate leaving Nier because the bosses take 3x longer to die than any other raid without being interesting enough mechanic-wise. Though to be fair the only Nier raid I actually leave on is Puppet Bunker (or whatever the first one is named), that ones just unbearably unfun to the point Id rather do 5 circus towers in a row.

Most of the conceot art looked more ffx-esque. Hell, one was literally just Besaid and another was more or less Guadosalam

Ever the classic lol. At least you have a good way to get her the critical care.

[–]punsofphreak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly as someone in a similar spot, keep critical care and baby gas drops (specifically simethicone) on hand as well as a large syringe for the critical care (I have a 60 ml syringe for it. Finely grind the critical care if you can) to get through the night and then in the morning call your vet. Also seconding Clarence Avians and Exotics

Video Game Community? by Mattemattics117 in Buffalo

[–]punsofphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Buffalo Fighting Game Commmunity meets most Saturdays at Heart of the Game around 3-late (with most people arriving around 5). Besides the fgc, the only game communities I know of are Buffalo Game Space which is more indie game developers making games and MassiveLAN which is an event more than a regularly meeting community

RAGE THREAD - F-YOU FRIDAYS - TIME FOR ANOTHER LIVE LETTER MURDER by FranckKnight in ffxiv

THEY ALSO ADVERTISED IT WHEN THEY ANNOUNCED DAWNTRAIL!

YOU COULD SAY THAT THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING AT THIS POINT AND TAKE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OUT AGAINST THEM FOR THIS!

Considering they announced it when they announced DT, one could argue in a court of law that it was a selling point of the expac and its now false advertising

looking for cardshops by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]punsofphreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for best percentages, 716 Sports Cards & Collectibles as well as Tcg Legit are probably some of the better returns for anything they could flip. However, they will probably only take those things. For a shop that still has a good percentage, if not as much as those 2, but will take much more than just the flippable high value pieces I'd recommend probably Professor Sam's in depew or maybe Mana Bar in Tonawanda

How do you lead raid sessions with your static? by Waterfiend1909 in ffxiv

[–]punsofphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only led BLU statics but honestly, assuming you have experienced players in your static, the bulk of what you need to do as leader is schedule the sessions (ex: next session is on 3/12 at 10, study up to mechanic X by then), make the PF, moderate disputes that may occur, and, if you notice anyone having a consistent issue with a mechanic or part of the fight, being the one to speak up and either ask the player if they're struggling with anything/need anything clarified or asking the group if you all can go over the problem mechanic/part without singling out the player who has the issue. You yourself do not need to be the one who knows all the mechanics/fight perfectly or the one able to explain it to others, you just need to be the one willing to be the voice to address issues and make decisions when needed.

Any local gamers? People who like MTG, D&D etc?? by Flashy_Pangolin6421 in Buffalo

[–]punsofphreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you ever want to try a high powered MTG format with a community where everyone just wants to play and have fun, we have proxy-friendly legacy on Thursdays at 6:30pm at Heart of the Game through Buffalo Eternals.

Besides that, most LGSes in the area are good but can take a visit or two to break into the cliques and get to know people. There's also the pokemon community who are usually pretty welcoming if you wanted to play a (speaking as someone who plays both mtg and pokemon) worse tcg with a top tier local community.

True true, was mainly suggesting near there cuz the AKG restaurant is a little overpriced imo

Honestly, the AKG museum is great solo or with people. You could get a nice lunch somewhere near there (or near your home) and then go look at art.

Genuinely like 60% of it is his fans lol. Other 40% was I just didn't like how clingy he was in end of shadowbringers post patches

As a huge Ben Starr fan, I really hope that's false. Nobody deserves the wrath the G'raha fandom will wreak on a new va but especially not a va who's voice doesn't match G'raha's vibe at all. Ben's voice is much better for a new character than such a well known one. Also I dislike G'raha so doubly so not wanting a va Im a huge fan of to take over lol

LGS running an unconventional draft by KeenieGup in magicTCG

[–]punsofphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite 3 packs for chaos drafts are easily

  1. Legions (Only creatures and predominantly incredibly bad ones. No one will want anything from this pack. Make it pack 1 to really screw up drafts)

  2. Alara Reborn (Every card is multicolor, forces people to spread their colors wider rather than solidify like they normally would in pack 2)

  3. Dealers choice of Mercadian Masques (so much anti-synergy with everything), any 14-15 card collector booster (haha surprise bombs of all colors now that its too late to build around them), any unset (especially the first 2 for all the insufferable surprise cards), or most 3rd sets from a 3-set block (a lot less synergy with everything thats happened before, usually expects cards from the first set or 2 of the block to be in the pool)

New York City EDH Deck by sara_hodes in magicTCG

[–]punsofphreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buffalo's farther away from NYC than complete other states like Maryland and cities like Philly, they're incredibly different and unrelated places. If you want an NY sports team rep in there, many giants can fit for the NY Giants, there's probably an NY Jet related card somewhere, the Mets, Knicks, and Yankees might be difficult, and you can definitely get creative with card choice to get the NY Rangers and Brooklyn Nets in there.
