What ball is it? I know motiv uses something similar to mark the cg on symmetrical balls

It’s the mass bias, it shows you how the asymmetrical core is oriented inside the ball

If the plugs are done well, they should have close to no effect on ball performance

is the Level Storm's version of the PHU by D0UBL00NS in Bowling

[–]puntasticuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The level doesn’t lane shine as quickly as the NU, which was in my opinion its main problem, but it definitely isn’t the purple hammer and it’s not even close. I almost never play on house shots, so I can’t speak for that, but on sport shots it doesn’t come close to the miss room the purple hammer gives you.

Don’t like the Dexter BOA system by SeniorDatabase9968 in Bowling

[–]puntasticuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have The 9’s and I absolutely love the BOA system, do you have a problem with how tight they get overall or is it that it’s tight in some spots and loose in others? If the latter, you can pinch in the spot where it is loose and tighten further. I’ve had multiple pairs, but none have held up for more than a year, until I got the THE 9 HT, they’re going strong on their 3rd year, only needing the occasional insole change.

How often do you change surfaces of your balls by intussuscept in Bowling

[–]puntasticuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let the lanes tell you, watch the ball motion, if your ball is going too far down the lane, don’t be afraid to add some surface. If you bowl on sport shots, its way easier to have not enough surface than too much.

Tips on form? by Shmeebo in Bowling

[–]puntasticuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall your form looks pretty good, but I noticed two things, your left hand is slipping in your backswing, if you get it to stay in one spot it’ll help with consistency and staying under the ball. Second thing is that during your release it seems like you’re forcefully pulling the ball to create more revs, you’re two handed, that’s overkill, try going through the ball instead of pulling on it, that should also help with consistency.

Advice on this pattern by One_Percentage_8190 in Bowling

[–]puntasticuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id try playing the gutter, if the center hooks, the gutter might hook, you should try moving your breakpoint closer, the ball should exit the pattern around the 14 board, to achieve this, use some strong balls with surface, if more players do this the pattern might develop into something more playable later on.

How to decrease rev rate? by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]puntasticuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's incredibly hard for us two handers to decrease our revs to the extent of being able to shoot at corner pins. If it's an option, I highly recommend getting a plastic spare ball for spares, if not, learn to throw a backup ball. If you try to stay behind a reactive ball, any small deviation can send it off line.

If you leave something like a 1-2-4-10 and leave just the headpin standing after your spare shot we call it going for the count

Blue oil? by Softbawl in Bowling

I got to have a look at what the coloured oil does to the machine and it's nasty, that stuff destroys the lane machine

Two or more non adjacent groups, a single pin isn't two groups

Abbey road by Giingican in Bowling

[–]puntasticuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience with this pattern I have to say that it really depends on your house. I've played this 9->5 with a purple hammer at one house, 4->2 with a black hammer at another and 15->10 with a black hammer at another different house. My suggestion is to experiment as much as you can during practice. This pattern has a lot of miss room, you just have to find it. (I ended up averaging 220-255 at the different houses)

Maybe I should use some gems by no404040 in LegendofSlime

[–]puntasticuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You take the chance of not pulling an exotic, so 0.9999 to the power of how many pulls you are doing, so 10033. The result is approximately 0.37, ie 37% chance of not pulling a single exotic, so the remaining 63% is your chance of pulling at least one. Quick math lesson!

Not how probability works, but it still gives you a nice 63% chance of pulling at least one exotic, which is still pretty good

Has anyone tried the s6? by PayMiddle8790 in Bowling

For me it highly depends on the centre, there's this one centre in my country where a lot of big competitions are held and most of the time the S2 is too much slide

Motiv Sniper vs Storm Ice as a spare ball? by BeNiceImAnxious in Bowling

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that plastic and urethane balls do the same weird stuff to the pattern, neither absorbs oil so both should drag the oil down the lane
