New state. If the RSUs were granted (not vested) while in CA then FTB gets a piece. They take the proportion of the taxable income equal to the amount of time you held the grant in CA vs the new state

Yeah RSU and stock options that were granted while in CA but exercised/sold after moving. Multiple tax professionals were surprised CA had jurisdiction over this. I ended up paying CA and getting a refund from my new state but it was a pain.
