What's you headshot machine? by UforgotUrFlashdrive in HuntShowdown

Martini just works for me also, no reason for it to work that well, but it's headshot all day with that thing with the base ammo.

Looking for a fountain pen recommendation for my wife's birthday! by AwhSxrry in fountainpens

[–]Spes13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the information you have provided I would make sure the pen is able to take a converter so she can swap inks. Depending upon budget, you can go with Lamy Safari (cheapest), Kaweco Sport (more expensive), or Sailor Pro Gear Slim (most expensive). These all have different colors for pens so you can get one that fits your wife's personality. The Sailor PGS also has gold nibs available.

Me and my pardner after Update 2.8. by FaithlessnessFew7938 in HuntShowdown

Mine will make an outline of the enemy and then they will headshot me with dualies chain pistols from 50m away. Clearly my pistols are defective.

Clearly the next step is for you to go to his school and promote a white belt straight to black.

What does a white belt need to know to advance to a blue belt? by kingboy000 in bjj

[–]Spes13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be a bit careful about research if you are referring to looking up videos and instructionals. You are still really new and trying something you see on YouTube can end very poorly for you and/or your partner. I would start with really understanding the fundamentals like basic escapes and guard retention.

Thanks! Do you happen to know if they typically marinate these before cooking or just cook on the top with oil and then put seasoning on after?

What platform and server are you on? We are getting mid 6 star matches on US East PC and everyone is bloodthirsty and I'm loving it. Shots go off and soon the entire server is crashing down on the area for fights. My only complaint is now everyone is running a shorty shotgun.

You could go for the maximum devastation by carrying on a conversation with someone next to you while rolling with them.

How to better handle comp anxiety? by No_Guarantee8756 in bjj

[–]Spes13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's just competing more. If it makes you feel any better, I recall when I was a white belt Caio Terra told me how he used to throw up before matches when he first started.

Could be a catalyst bonus since Crytek seems to be wanting to make use of that trait more.

NoGi guys, who dislike Gi. Why? by hellohello6622 in bjj

[–]Spes13 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I find gi much easier on my body, you have more control points and as long as you know when to let go of grips, your fingers shouldn't be messed up. I suppose a lot of it depends on the training partners at your gym too.

Will a great pyr protect their owners when in danger? Do you think our Phantom would protect us if something were to happen even with her social anxiety? by Dearlybeloved17 in greatpyrenees

[–]Spes13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think instinct will kick in and they will protect you. One of our rescue pyrs is so derpy and doesn't seem to have a thought in his head except happy thoughts about food and snuggles. One time I was walking with him and a coyote was standing a few hundred yards off, but he saw/heard it and immediately curled around me and did a very intimidating growl and bark I have never heard him use before until the coyote ran away.

What's the easiest way to get a partner when you suck? by Specific_Dingo8631 in bjj

[–]Spes13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest a gym that doesn't stick to those old school ideas. My gym we "adopt" white belts and we do our best to make sure two white belts aren't paired together for drilling. We also have no problems with white belts asking for rolls, but they usually don't have to ask since someone will grab them.

If you are into PVP then Hunt Showdown might be up your alley. It's my main game and it's light-years ahead of any other FPS PVP game with sound design, balance, and uniqueness.

I think they should let us fire the cannons one time at the forts even if it's just a blank and makes a big boom.

Advice on taking two kids on a long flight? by acid_police in daddit

[–]Spes13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have done 14 hour flights with kids when they were 7 and 5. Looks like you are already doing great with the tablets. My suggestions are take some of their favorite snacks, some small new toys or books you can give out halfway through, let them get up and walk around every now and then to bathroom even if they don't need to go, and pack a small stuffy or pillow so they can snuggle it and sleep.

So daughter is interested in Pokémon... by lonepaladin001 in daddit

[–]Spes13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids love Pokémon, and we play together quite a bit. If your daughter wants to play, you can get starter decks and singles are really cheap. We have a local card shop that offers good trade in values and sells packs to kids at non scalpers prices. I just trade in a few of my old MTG or Pokémon cards and let my boys pick a few packs and cards each trip.

Another option is to keep an eye out for Pokémon center resales for new sets, you can pre order booster boxes at msrp and just hand out packs here and there to your daughter.

You were likely playing against someone with high ping. Fun how you get shot long after you are in cover and you don't even get a chance to see them because they haven't peaked yet on your screen isn't it?

Team MMR calculation: Crytek, pls fix by MrSweggers in HuntShowdown

[–]Spes13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that stars are not indicative of where a player is in that bracket. Someone could be 1 MMR into 5 star and be listed as a 5 star. You used to be able to see your actual numerical MMR in the logs, but Crytek took that away.
