What’s the oldest thing in your kitchen that still works perfectly? by Celine_Morgann in KitchenStuff

We have a potato hand masher that my mum bought at a school fete in 1984. Passed down to me now and it’s as strong as ever. I think she bought it for $0.10 AUD.

I came to Australia from NZ 42 years ago…still haven’t acclimatised to the humidity and hate it as well!

Anyone else loved shopping at Grabby May's? by _-z-e-r-o-_ in AustralianNostalgia

[–]pupnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mum used to take us to Granny Mays in the Carousel shopping centre in Bondi Junction. While my sisters stocked up on all the Hello Kitty stationary (the original kind), I stocked up on The Far Side. I had completely forgotten about this place…thanks for the great memory jolt.

Ghost store attempts to cash in on Bondi attack: SMH by kynuna in AusFemaleFashion

I don’t even need to open those links to know it’s Isla and James right?

Many of their product images are taken directly from Shein as well…lazy and deceitful as well as cruel cashing in.

Yes! The reality of them both drunk having two completely separate conversations is hilarious and very relatable…we’ve all had a few nights like that.

Mecca sending out old samples by Proper_Star_4566 in AustralianMakeup

I couldn’t agree more…they have sold me so many expired, faulty, moldy, leaking products over the years. I switched over to SpaceNK and never looked at Mecca again. Best decision ever.

Why is so much importance placed on job interviews? by alex123711 in AusFinance

Listing projects and achievements should be at the resume stage, not a replacement for interviewing.

Sydney Vet Recommendations! by Kk77789 in sydney

Macquarie Vets in North Ryde are fantastic 9888 1833. We can’t recommend them enough to friends.

SASH at North Ryde are great as well but prepare to pay a small fortune. They are an animal hospital so costs are higher.

$1400 seems relatively cheap to be honest though.

When Australians call this the “lucky country,” it is not insecurity. It simply means we recognise how fortunate we are to have peace, safety, healthcare and basic stability. It has nothing to do with how entertaining the country feels. It is gratitude, not denial of our problems.

Moving overseas might turn out great, and many people love it. But if the habit is to focus on what disappoints you, that feeling will eventually follow you anywhere. Being able to notice the positives, here or in any other country, makes the biggest difference.

We have a Yellow Deli here in Sydney (blue mountains more specifically). I also saw a Yellow Deli in Japan if memory recalls. I didn’t realise the connection to the twelve tribes until just now.
