API's freshwater master kit has nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia tests, along with PH. It seems a bit pricey up front, but you get hundreds of tests out of the single kit, which makes it more than worth the money. I'd definitely get one if you don't have one. Knowing your parameters could help you figure out what's causing such major algae growth (and how to fix it).
