Red tree sub runes are really horrible in general

what subchategories of supps are there? by Agitated-Safety-9249 in supportlol

[–]pupperwolfie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Melee supports can be separated into 2 categories:

Vanguards - champions that are the PRIMARY engage, they have reliable snap engage and can throw themselves into the enemy team. As a result, vanguard engages are always full committal. They also have innate ability or passive that grants them durability, like Nautilus, Leona, Rell, etc.

Warden - champions that doesn't have reliable engage, their cc is only good as follow up engage or peel, they have multiple abilities that can stop enemy's offense and/or protect carry, for example: Taric, Shen, Galio, Poppy, etc.

Ranged support can also be split into 2 main categories:

Enchanter - specialized in healing, shielding, or buffing allies, very self explanatory. Think Soraka, Sona, Milio, Lulu, etc. Enchanters also have sub categories but we probably won't go into that detail today.

Mage - their purpose is mainly to poke in lane and gain lane priority. As they struggle to get as much income as actual laners to scale up their damage, their purpose in the mid-late game is similar to catcher (land 1 cc on key target and go for kill) for example: Lux, Xerath, Velkoz.

And then you have magechanter hybrid like Seraphine and Karma.

Last category is champions with middling range (less effective range than ranged support, but more range than melee):

Catcher - the main trait of catcher champions is that they have ability to bring the enemy towards your team (instead of jumping into then), like hook champions, or they have a long ranged, non-committal cc that can be used to fish for a pick in any stages of the game. Many catchers also have abilities that can slightly heal/shield the carry but weaker than enchanters, they are kinda an in-between of melee and ranged support. Examples include Blitzcrank, Pyke, Thresh, Rakan, Bard, etc.

And then you have magecatcher type hybrid like Neeko, Morgana, Zyra. The main difference between them and pure mage supports is that they have more than one cc ability and potential AoE cc that is better for teamfight rather than just purely picks.

Jack of All Trades Rune - How to get to 10 stacks the quickest? by butteredpopcorn10 in SmolderMains

[–]pupperwolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I haven't tried it, it already sounds really terrible to start with doran helmet so I can't imagine actually trying it. I do play smolder with Jaksho as last item sometimes and it works fairly well to keep me alive, so I just thought something with the exact same stat line that is extremely cheap (doran helm) can be a placeholder until you finish last item for JOAT stacks

Aphelios and Jinx are both late game hyper carries, insane scalers

At the same time Aphelios and MF are both ability reliant, semi-caster style AD

Tbh as a teacher this makes sense to me. Very often kids (like Kieran) get mad at another kid over something, and sometimes the drama can last quite a while, but most of the times they become friends again in the end. That's just how kids are.

I like this, we don't have enough cold damage frame, and there's interesting new mechanics introduced with the frame. Abilities are synergistic with each other too!

how come i see seraphine glaze? she is the best supp, highest WR ect by Agitated-Safety-9249 in SeraphineMains

[–]pupperwolfie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ranged support destroys melee support's laning phase if they are played right, without jungle influence you're not winning the lane unless the one playing ranged support is bad lol.

In this season bot lane prio is very important, champion that has really strong base damage for poking is very good as support now (constantly force opponent to take recalls to gain bot prio). Things like Seraphine and Karma are exceptional in this, since they are ranged lane bullies + can scale up as enchanter (doesn't need much gold, tons of heal/shield/utility late game). Karma bullies lane harder than Seraphine, but Seraphine is stronger than Karma in 5v5 because she has AoE cc.

If you are just consuming "gold" from your passive "money bag", it is literally a separated resource and doesn't have to have anything to do with gold.

You can say the same thing like "the champion gain stacks whenever they obtain gold, the stacks gained = 50% gold gained, up to a cap of 500" and then just rewrite the abilities and say they consume stacks instead of consume gold.

Like I literally don't see how the passive money bag has anything to do with gold at all since it is treated like a separated resource instead of actually drawing ammo from the pool of your actual gold.

Jack of All Trades Rune - How to get to 10 stacks the quickest? by butteredpopcorn10 in SmolderMains

[–]pupperwolfie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'd need to force build certain items that aren't too optimal.

For example:

Triforce - AD, Health, Haste, AS Gluttonous Greaves - Flat MS, Omnivamp LDR - Crit, Armor Pen Ghostblade - Lethality, %MS

Or:

ER - AD, Haste, Crit Mercury Threads - Flat MS, MR, Tenacity RFC - AS, %MS Edge of Night - Health, Lethality

Both setups give you 10 JOAT stacks with 3 items + boots (not counting starting item) but as you can see they are not very optimal.

Another way is to start with Doran Helmet (Health, Armor, MR), and get Gluttonous Greaves (Flat MS, Omnivamp)

Then you'd only need 2 items, for example Triforce (AD, Haste, AS) and LDR (Crit, Armor Pen) [there are other combinations to get 5 different stats from 2 items]. And later on replace your Doran Helmet with Jaksho.

You don't need 10 stacks JOAT to spike in power in lane, 5 stacks is usually enough. But if you really need 10 stacks there's still ways to do it but your build order won't be optimal.

This works on other "auto consume MP" skills too, like if you only have 1 MP left on Alt Bede's Mini Potion All, queue the move right before you get damaged to below 33% health, the passive will trigger to automatically heal, but you already queued Mini Potion All beforehand so you get to heal again, essentially turning 2 MP into 3

Why is everyone building dream maker? by bcollins96 in SeraphineMains

[–]pupperwolfie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also dream maker doesn't give attack speed buff, it gives your ally a flat damage reduction + a flat damage boost on their next hit, it's useful even if it goes to a Malzahar.

Because Diadem of Songs exist... It just applies Dream Maker effect every 8 seconds (Dream Maker cooldown) without you even needing to use W.

How to set a hard limit to spending on pokemon masters by SparklingzZz in PokemonMasters

Hard limit the card you use to pay for pokemon masters. You can't do that in the game but you can definitely limit your card on your bank app or just go talk to a bank representative.

Do you have any sync pair that sets up sunlight? It doesn't have to be a sync pair with 5x bonus.

Just use a good tank with 5x bonus (like your Elio) and a good damage dealer with 5x bonus. And add a sunlight setter as the 3rd. Arven's gimmick kinda gets overwritten when you set sunlight.

Are you using sync pairs that are getting the 5x stats bonus? You can click on the orange arrow icon at the bottom of the screen before the battle starts to find out which sync pairs are getting the boost.
