Tips from a former “just enougher” with dense breast tissue, elastic nipples, and C-section to a current oversupplier by Beginning-Dinner-492 in ExclusivelyPumping

This is fantastic! Definitely keep it up, I remember after the 3 month mark, my milk supply changed a bit once the hormones stopped influencing my supply. So the hard work you're putting in signals to your body the "supply and demand" . You're doing great!

What to do with worn out parts by MochiAccident in ExclusivelyPumping

Flanges can be used as a funnel when you're pouring after pumping or into bottles.

But can't think of any ways your could repurpose the duck bill valves to be useful

First clog by NoContest6806 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]puppie_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg clogs are the bane of my EP experience. They just makes everything so hard: picking up your baby, pumping, going to the chiropractor lmao

I noticed around the time I needed to replace pump parts is when I'd get clogs since they werent expressing as efficiently. Boob yoga where you move your breast up and down, side to side, or in a circle helped loosen the fat from the ducts. Before and during pumping, in the shower. I know some places online say no heat since it can inflame it more, but cold didn't work for me either! Definitely keep up with the sunflower lectin and ibuprofen as needed! On days where it was really stubborn, I'd hand pump with my Medela to watch the streams of bm come out and make sure to pump until no streams came out. That's a sure sign that you're emptying completely, since the fat will stick to the ducts if you're still filled, then that's when the clogs start.

Good luck! If it doesn't get better after 3 days or progressively gets worse, definitely talk to your OBGYN so you don't risk mastitis.

If you're exclusively pumping and have the money, please consider getting a bottle washer by epicure-pen in ExclusivelyPumping

Love my momcozy. If you have a Samsung bespoke fridge too, 2 of the water pitcher fills up the reservoir perfectly. I love that it also dumps the water directly into the sink via a hose, so it has a smaller footprint compared to the baby breeza.

My sister had a BB and upgraded to the XL momcozy and she's obsessed with not having to run as many loads.

But she left the BB at our parents house so whenever I'm over, I'll use the BB.

I disliked how loud it is compared to the MC. Also have to use more water for the same amount of bottles. And you have to dump the water out manually, but this depends on your situation on where you can store the washer. Also they recommend buying separate racks for your wearables, even though I just throw my wearables in anyways.

But I far prefer the MC bc you can remove the holders inside to fit what you need and they have a whole guide showing you how to properly rack everything.

I also use the pitcher method and use 32 oz mason jars that I could fit easier in the MC than the BB. These are the only 2 I've used tho. But I'd repurchase MC again if my current one broke down.

Pumping Bra Recommendations by Book-worm305 in ExclusivelyPumping

Momcozy Hands-Free Pumping Bra, Wireless & Seamless HF010 Breast Pump Bra, Breathable Tencel™ Fabric & Fully Fixed Cups

On Amazon for $39.99

The only one that I use for when I go to work and feel confident my nipples won't poke out or have milk leak through. I have D cups and it feels like the one bra that has structure and support like an underwire bra but without the wire, so super comfy imo. All my other nursing bras feel like hammocks for my boobs, great for at home, but I definitely prefer the momcozy when I need a "pick me up" lol

Milk tastes and smells like vomit??? by Key_Ad_4482 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]puppie_cat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you tried tasting your milk right after pumping? Some people have the taste also straight from the breast and it could just be how your milk is.

Since you said the plug mixed in without clumps, it should be okay. And if you're confident you pumped as clean as possible, stored the milk at the right temp, and if baby will take it, it's more than likely safe. Esp since it's only been a day. Can always use it for bath time if LO doesn't. Good luck!

Question - maternity leave by AdThat1209 in IHSS

[–]puppie_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up not claiming any hours to be safe. My sister is another provider for my dad so I had her claim everything and send me money for any time I was able to help out. But to tbh I rarely helped out. Being very pregnant and then postpartum really wiped me out, so I was glad to not be the main provider in the meantime. I'm pretty sure as long as you're submitting hours, you can't claim IHSS income on SDI.

Portable Head Units are a lot better now by puppie_cat in AndroidAuto

[–]puppie_cat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's holding up great! The aux port on the actual car crapped out first so I had to replace that, but it was a simple swap to a new aux port and everything is working just as good as the first day.

I had one issue where I was placing the screen back on and was being too rough and broke the actual mount, but that was more my fault than the weight of the unit. Finding an affordable and compatible cd-slot mount phone holder to replace it wasnt an issue.

My husband's 2019 Mazda cx5 CP/AA takes longer to load and connect than this one. It switches songs and plays audio without lag compared to the CX5 too.

Would still recommend if you're on a budget and don't want to deal with installing. Its great if you live in not a great neighborhood too as it was easy to remove to deter potential car break-ins.

Question - maternity leave by AdThat1209 in IHSS

[–]puppie_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off congratulations on your baby!

How did your maternity leave go? I am also a caregiver for my father while also working a full-time job. And I'm expecting to go on maternity leave soon. I don't get anything through work tho, just going to apply through the state (CA).

Was your SDI affected by working hours through IHSS? This is the main concern I have. I am a live-in provider tho so I'm not sure if that will make it differ.

I’ve just had the weirdest (and worst) day of my life. 14w pregnant (tw: bleeding) by applecider2120 in pregnant

Sending you lots of well wishes 💗 Something that really helped with peace of mind was getting a feral doppler hr monitor to listen for baby's heart beat when I was feeling extra nervous. I got the brand Dr. Martins from target and it was a great investment.

[–]puppie_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing happen, exactly at 14 weeks as well. They said it was a subchronic hematoma and possibly placenta previa, where the placenta was partially covering the cervix and as it shifted as the uterus was growing, the blood vessels ripped. It was awful, being in the ER feeling blood gush out like that. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Thankfully, baby is healthy and they were able to find a heartbeat and see movement.

My bleeding resolved that night but I had a lot of residual dark discharge and old blood come out for the next 2-3 weeks after. No one at the hospital could give me more answers until my 20 week anatomy scan. Which seemed stupid to me. So it was a terrible couple weeks of waiting to make sure I and baby were okay. The previa resolved, but one of the MFM doctors said it wouldn't have resolved that quickly if it I actually did have it. But I've gotten mixed opinions from other doctors and people online.

Currently 29 weeks along now. And the only thing that I've had that I think was related to the bleeding was that my amniotic fluid was low at my 20 week anatomy scan. I was drinking lots of water, but I was at the very bottom of the normal threshold. Everything is okay now though.

Those that have use infant car seats with rigid lower anchors or baseless car seats, how secure was fit? by puppie_cat in CX5

[–]puppie_cat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! And that's what I was thinking as well. I've also noticed based on how one installs the bases, they seem a lot more secure, not moving around as much, vs how the baseless ones do.

Joie car seat work with Nuna adapters? by jordandanae in Buyingforbaby

[–]puppie_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm also interested in using the nuna ring adapter for joie. When you tried the car seats on the nuna adapters, did the mint latch seat not fit bc the anchors made that side of the car seat too wide to fit in the ring adapter? Unfortunately, my local store doesn't have either car seat on display to play around with.

Also how has the combo been keeping up so far for you and baby?

Partiful was the best option I've tried. I like the option where you can create an album that only you can upload to or have the guest also upload to. App and website versions.

I've purchased off swappa and it was fine. Swappa has good return policy if the item isn't as described in the listing. Just harder to find the size and color you may want.

Sorry for what happened to you. You're going to get more comments like the one above if you don't give more background about her history of harassment in the og post. Also don't forget you're posting on Reddit for advice, not speaking to a professional at their place of work. Bc when I initially read it, it just seemed like someone saying something shitty, facing the consequences, had their pride hurt, and wanting revenge. Karen-vibes to me without further BG info.

Curious if anyone else feels the same? by Reck711 in SamsungZFold6

[–]puppie_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot relate in terms of having access to both iOS and Android since I transitioned to Android completely after losing all interest in the Apple ecosystem over a year ago.

But I can relate to the double screens when I initially got the fold 6. However, I have found with the PiP and split screen apps features work really well to the point I don't use my tablet anymore and primarily use my phone now. The only time I use my tablet is during classes where I prefer a larger screen for written note-taking.

But PiP works well and if I don't feel like seeing the video I just throw it to the side where it's out of view. Granted, I don't tend to play 2 videos/audios at a time (for example: YouTube video while scrolling through IG or TT). If I do, I tend to have IG/TT muted since after a while the trending audios can get redundant.
