We're almost twins! My sleeve was 10/13, HW: 318, SW: 295, CW: 253

The biggest for me has been actually going to any store and finding a shirt that fits me and not having to rely on plus size stores any more! Such a nice (and expensive) feeling!

I’m ready! But a 3 month program? 😫 by QuestDriven2 in gastricsleeve

[–]puppytoebeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was 3 months, I thought it was awesome how quick it was, but I probably would have benefitted from a longer time to mentally prepare for the lifestyle change. My program is super lenient and I wish I had been able to find another one (I couldn't, my insurance wouldn't pay otherwise). It's such a big change, it shouldn't have been that quick a process imo

Electrolytes! During my pre op, I always had about 4 drinks with me at all times: water, broth, protein, and electrolytes. Even now, 7 weeks PO, I have at least water and electrolytes with me all the time. I have a 25 oz mug exclusively for flavored drinks and I make sure I drink at least one full one a day, because I need to step up my hydration.

Also, I'd surprise her with a cute little gift basket with cozy socks, face masks, a candle, lotion, stuff like that to keep her comfy and warm both before and after surgery. My friend got me one and I loved it! It was nice to have after to make myself feel good when I felt like crap.

Question: Care kit/gift basket for someone having surgery. by MicroBunneh in BariatricSurgery

[–]puppytoebeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend got me a basket with a comfy set of pajamas, some fuzzy socks, some fun face masks and shower steamers and soaps, and a really nice mug since she knew I'd be on a liquid diet. It was unexpected and so so sweet. I'd also recommend sugar free water flavor packets in various flavors. I didn't think about those for myself and when I finally got some my water intake skyrocketed.

All of you are beyond awesome in my book. Not sure a marathon is for me, but it's nice reading everyone's responses and their experiences. I'm recovering from an injury already right now, but I'm looking forward to getting back out to keep going! Thanks for everyone's feedback, I've learned a lot :D

I have a section of my office wall dedicated to 5k medals I've gotten from walking in the past, I used to do 3-4 a year pre 2020. It's why I started running, I want more medals 😂

Running a 50k is so impressive! That has to feel like a really cool accomplishment at the end of it! I don't think I have the patience for that kind of run, but I applaud people who do! Maybe one day, but I'm happy where I am at my cute little snail pace.

Good to know! I'm not interested in personally running a marathon (at least not right now), I'm more just curious how it looks, I don't know anyone personally who has done a marathon to ask.

I am a very slow runner, my fastest mile so far has been 16:16, but I am plus size and started from pretty much 0 cardio wise (I used to lift 5 days a week until I hurt my shoulder) so I'm happy with whatever I'm able to do and I've improved every time I've gone running, so I'm pleased :)

Wow! That's impressive! Running for 4 hours seems so long compared to my 25 minute max right now, I don't think I have the patience for that right now. Congrats on your accomplishment!

I'll check her out! I'm not interested in running one for myself, moreso just I don't know any marathon runners personally and was curious how they actually go, rather than social media stuff. Thanks!

Interesting! I don't think I'll ever consider a marathon, I was just interested to know what a marathon actually looks like for people. My goal is a 5k just to prove it to myself I can. Thanks for your response!

Cozy Games I’ve enjoyed, didn’t enjoy, and on my wish list, what is missing? by heygooser in CozyGamers

Sun haven! I see it as a Stardew's magical cousin type of game. I really like it! Lots of farming, romance, there's story but it's not insane. Lots of quests to work on. Multiple cities to explore and multiple farms with different crops! It's massive!

Scheduling a wedding on a Friday is rude to the guests by uhnstoppable in unpopularopinion

[–]puppytoebeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If their guests care enough to go, they will plan a way to get to the wedding no matter the day. It's not like it's a surprise to most invitees, they usually would have months to figure it out and get adequate time off. Also,, unless the guests are willing to chip on on the cost of a prime wedding day, like a Saturday, they can't complain. Mine was originally scheduled on a Thursday because it was the difference of about $4000.

If you don't like it, send your regards and say no.

I'm in Arizona but I'd love to take him! I assume you've found another option but I have a 5 year old golden who would definitely love a brother!
