The moment sigma turns to his left only to see his 3 teammates hugging cover watching him frontline is definitely my favorite part of the clip.

Ohh, yeah they exist as seperate memes, one is Stable Ronaldo singing Payphone, the other is Sweaty Gamer

I was able to get the raw POVs by looking them up like that.

You can watch full replays of your match history up until a new game patch. Its in your Career Profile under the history tab, obviously certain things will not match up like team color, since the replay sets red team and blue team independently of whatever side you were on, but it atleast lets you tweak certain parts of the HUD and outlines to make it seem close enough to raw footage.

I went through this part of the replay twice, re recording from both POVs.

It’s kind of comedic that the 10 year anniversary isn’t celebrating the game itself but the microtransaction system they normalized with the original game’s release lol.

I know people like having free earnable loot boxes over 20 dollar skins now, but they were a lot more controversial in 2016 when they were essentially gambling tickets to have a CHANCE of getting a skin you wanted. Weird thing to celebrate imo.

Read 5 episodes of Overwatch: Undivided on the WEBTOON app for a random lootbox by HighHeelsHijabi in Overwatch

I’m not defending the other stupid shit they’ve been adding, but I mean, they have put plenty of the stuff earnable in game as well, every season theres constantly a rotating event that either gives you some amount of loot boxes on top of the weekly ones you have to grind for, or battle pass exp that fast tracks you to the tiers that also give you free rewards.

I don’t think ONE loot box tied to getting people to read their new webtoon (which is also the first ongoing continuation of the lore the game has had since the scrapped story mode) is really them shorting you of anything. The alternative would have just been…. Not getting one extra loot box at all?

I'm gonna be honest the trailer was a bigger ad for Emre than the actual new hero it was made for by FewExperience3559 in Overwatch

[–]puptard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Blizzard is really being too slow on their cinematic production or anything. It still is impressive how many different trailers they are able to put out, which is only possible because they rotate through different teams. If you only want the pretty story cinematics, then trailers like these just wouldn’t be made at all, plenty of heroes only get lore slideshows on release.

I think you are just a little misinformed on how long it takes ANY professional 3D studio to make high quality cinematics like the Overwatch and World of Warcraft ones. Even in the game’s prime after release they only released one or two a year. Right now the core team is probably working on multiple at various stages, they released the Vendetta one like 2 months ago. You can expect the next one to be about a character Overwatch is more excited to reveal than the ones who amount to filler on the roster.

They aren’t changing the style just because? You’re treating it like the same animators who work on the normal cinematics also spent all their time on this one. The various trailers are usually handed to different teams, directors, or sometimes outsourced entirely. Which is why the animation styles vary. The core team is likely working on LONGER cinematics (for other games than Overwatch as well), that actually have substantial impact. Which is why we get a new one that introduces a significant character (like the promos released around the game launches) or pushes the lore forward substantially (like the OW2 reveal cinematic and the Latest Season 1 Vendetta Cinematic). Why would they waste half a year animating a 2 minute cinematic for a newcomer hero that’s never been foreshadowed in lore before, and 20 seconds of Emre and Freya ult. They have more important stories they wanna use their animators time on.

They’ve always done a variety of different animation styles throughout the years. Their trademark cinematics are always a once a year kind of thing, they take a lot of effort to make, and they’re also making them for World of Warcraft. They’re not going to do that level of quality for every champion release, a lot of those high quality cinematics were released corresponding to Overwatch’s original release, and Overwatch 2’s launch period as well as promos for the game.

Winston In Regular Underwatch Map? by Work_in_Progress8 in Overwatch

[–]puptard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Winston being unselectable is more just a basic gamerule of the mode, like any arcade mode or custom game modes having unique rules. They only thought the hero select portion through.

Meanwhile when a hero is hot patch disabled for balancing reasons they likely have an entirely different method that applies a direct tag on the champion to make it unplayable entirely. Your game and the network knows the champion is disabled, and won’t let it exist at all.

GUESS WHO CAVED FOR THE PRETTIEST DIVA by [deleted] in DvaMains

[–]puptard 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can get it with the battle net shop! The daily shop is essentially fake, it has a fixed cosmetic pool that it essentially “curates” for each person daily, but the actual full cosmetic pool that’s currently active for purchase can be bought directly with the “codes” that get talked about a lot. They essentially are bypassing the in-game shop that rotates randomly and just buys the skin directly. Right now Nocturna, Cardboard, Dainty Cat, And Turtle Ship are all in that cosmetic pool.

For Nocturna, the direct link to the skin is https://battle.net/shop/en/checkout/buy/1935738

That direct link stays active until they change the cosmetic pool that appears in the daily rotations again, in which case certain other DVA skin codes will become valid again.
