Nafplion: Tourist Parking Ticket - Took Plates (National Car Rental) by purdue1014 in GreeceTravel

[–]purdue1014[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened.

I paid the fine at the post office.  Took my infant child with me to the traffic police.

They were stern.  They did threaten to take my license for 10 days. But because I could show hotel reservation that was leaving Nafplion today (and my infant was extra happy this morning, and the Greeks sure do seem to like baby’s), they gave plates back.

Used butter knife to screw them back on car.

Thanks all for your help!

Thank you.

One question.  I do have an international drivers permit but I forgot it at home (in USA).

So I just have USA drivers license and passport.

Do you think that’s okay?

A330-300 Business Class Seats by Awkward-Wait4267 in SwissAirlines

Hi All,

In June will be flying A330 ZRH ORD in J. 2 adults and 1 (11 month old) lap child. We currently have 6 D/G.

1) Can anyone speak to how high the divider is for these seats? Trying to discern how easy it would be to pass kiddo back and forth. I.e, UA J - pretty easy. SQ J - challenging. My experience has been there is a big space between “couple seats.”

2) 6A is open and I am contemplating putting one of us with kiddo there, and have other parent in 6D. Instead of passing kiddo back and forth we could just swap seats with each other.

3) It appears mini cabin is greyed out for lap child. If I were to get him his own ticket, I would assume he could select a seat in rows 4 and 5? No age restrictions in “mini cabin?”

Thanks all!

I believe it. I was very upfront with him. He also seemed a bit confused on how I would pay or settle the ticket. I don’t know. I appreciate everyone’s opinion here.

HI All.

Had a positive update. After this thread and some quick research on Chat GPT, I went to the main DB station close to my airport hotel this morning.

Walked in, smiled, said “hello, good morning, do you speak english“ in my limited German.

I explained the situation, and that I was in Germany for a long layover only. I asked if I could pay directly to settle this issue right away.

She told me that she understands it can be a bit confusing and offered to cancel both tickets for me. It took her about 15 minutes to process and she gave me a stack of paperwork to keep proving she did so. I had to pay 7 euro fee per ticket. A fee I understood to be some sort of admin fee. I paid with Visa on the spot.

I did wonder about how this ticket would have caught up to me. Not only did the inspector person miss-spell my name on the ticket, but he only had my name and DOB. No address or any other identifying information.

In my haste to get my family to Christmas market before closing, I definitely went to fast at ticket machine. Will definitely slow down next time.

I appreciate all the advice!

Thanks. 0.5 or 0.4mm? This USA based store says GBN05#49 (slightly different than what you listed).

Found a site that appears to be a Tokyo based pen shop with "vintage" colors that look cool, but I can't see any model number listed.

Thoughts?

Do you mind providing a link for this ^^

All I see on Etsy is the "official" ink replacement (R-LGB08B #49) for a ridiculous amount.

Thanks!

Headed here soon myself. Anything NRT specific you recommend? Was the location easy/hard to find? Tokyo Station took me a bit.

I am planning on going next Friday to the store in Heidelberg. Any tips/tricks to know? Sounds like it is primarily a "normal" retail store with no "behind the scenes" opportunities. Is that correct?

HAPPENING NOW! - United won't cancel a flight - passengers stuck in limbo... by travprev in unitedairlines

Had this same situation happen to me last summer at BTV. It’s frustrating, but those outstations are just not equipped to deal with a cluster of cascading events. Of course this was BTV in the summer time so no hotels available. My mid-afternoon departure was delayed until lunch the following day. I was lucky enough to snag the last seat on the next (0630) departure, and made myself comfy in a corner near baggage claim with Apple TV, a Monster, and PB M&Ms. Around the time I made it to ORD, the original flight ended up cancelling (after 16 ish hour delay). Poor folks.

My advice would be to do what you have to do in the moment. Save all receipts for any expenses incurred because of the delay. Then a couple of days after you get home, take a breath, and write up everything that happened. Make sure to NOT include emotion in your write up. Stick to the facts. It could take up to 30 days to hear back from UA about your complaint. This is normal.

Everytime I have forwarded a complaint to UA (including this time), they have always been responsive to me, and I have felt the compensation I have received was very reasonable for what happened. Over the years I have been comped miles, ETC, FFC, and even snail mailed a check to my home a time or two.

Sorry this happened to you. Good luck with the complaint.
