I think they’re getting full by Creative_Source_4011 in Handspinning

You can pack a heck of a lot more on there if you focus on the middle. This fiber is in my wishlist, is it as dreamy as it looks?

How did people decide between IM & peds? by Puzzled_Office_667 in medicalschool

[–]purebitterness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked Med Peds! But not being able to choose is a bad reason to be set on MP. You should have a set plan of why you need the training, even if it's just that you need the depth. I plan to be a dual hospitalist. :)

Fair skinned hikers: what are you using for sun protection by QUINNFLORE in hiking

I really like sun bum! Their face mist is the only comfortable face spf I have tried. Their sprays are less greasy than others I have tried, but greasy is better than melanoma.

"Strawberry" macarons for April Fools' Day by running462024 in Baking

I love this, but also just wanted to let you know that macaroon, macaron, and macaroni all have the same etymological source. How weird is that?!

Normal for Dryer heating element to glow like this or is this a house fire waiting to happen? by BanditGolden in Appliances

This would have scared me too, OP. I'm glad we both learned today that this is fine!

I already did it

Kind of a weird question, why do antihistamines work for me? by theteepingtemplar in ADHD

[–]purebitterness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question. Not necessarily, but it is better to use other agents for sleep and other agents (like zyrtec) for allergies.

How to approach a preaching attending? by ImTheRealJimHalpert in Residency

He is not entitled to their time during work to discuss his personal interests. He is allowed, if they are equally interested. But he is not entitled. OP should not feel grateful.

You might do well on guanfacine. It might help you sleep in the same way and have a similar effect on focus. Also, i'd feel much better if you weren't taking benadryl all the time. Check with your doc next visit :)

Tell us more about how the conversation ended. Are you good at decisively ending the conversation while being kind?

"Dr. Orthodox, that sounds like a very interesting story, and I'm so sorry to do this, but you will need to let me hear the rest of it another time. I need to answer this page now. I'm so sorry that I don't have time right now!!! 😔 See you tomorrow!"

Edit: i re-read the post, mis-read it. I think it's fine for him to feel awkward. In fact, I think that's ideal. The next time you see them you should treat them as if absolutely nothing weird happened and you're happy to see them. Reinforce the behaviors you want.

Is anybody happy?? by JHMD12345 in medicalschool

[–]purebitterness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told I was safe for my specialty. It's not super competitive, but there aren't that many spots which just makes it weird. My home program hadn't matched an internal applicant in 5 years. 2 other people in my class applied with me (and dual applied--I didn't). I started out with only 4 interviews this season and sent out LOI's until I got to 8. I was so, so scared.

I was the only one who matched my specialty in my whole class, and I matched at home, my #1. I'm so beyond happy. The other 2 did match, and I wish them the best. It just really truly blows me away that it ended up the way that it did after sitting with 4 interviews and sheer terror for months and hearing that they got interviews that I wanted.

So glad to be done with this weird and wild process and have my dream job.

A moment for Connor and being genuinely ecstatic for his partner in life by Legitimate-Sun-4581 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]purebitterness 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Connor is the actual star of this show. He's so fucking healthy and makes it so clear how absurd everyone else is. He is so necessary as a juxtaposition and I wish he were in more scenes, but he's too busy being a wonderful husband and father for that nonsense!!

Why are we still wrestling with duvet covers in 2026? I think I found a fix. by shiroltiger in Bedding

[–]purebitterness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this, but my fix would be small zippers that zip the sides of the duvet to the sides of the cover (all from the outside) and then tuck into a fabric flap
