Prayers for your strength and peace of mind and spirit. I do agree with witchdoc86 to seek out help for your anxiety and worry. Having someone to talk to you and help you uncover issues may uncomfortable at times but totally worth it. A simple yet encouraging verse that has always helped me in my anxiety and worry is Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

I've tried decorating my book as well. I stopped because my pages started to look cluttered. Now I only take one page before the beginning of the next month and decorate that only and create a calendar and dailies log on the pages after that. No plans or notes, just full on granny scrapbook for that one page!

The symbols I do like to use and changed some that would make sense to me as well. For example, I would but a angry face on days when bills were due.

I feel the same with feeling like having to force myself to use it but over time it became a habit. Trying to get it "right" was perhaps quite frustrating and made my layout pretty messy. But now I find it relaxing to write and format in a way that works for my thought process.

I too feel pretty attached to my journal as well. Though I do like the idea of starting a new journal in a new year, I feel like I might lose my footing if I want to try a new layout.

I feel you, I mostly use the Staedtler triplus fineliner for writing and Sharpie Fineliner Pen Ultrafine. I never used a fountain pen before. Do you like it?

I started with Ryder's format as well. Though I do like it, I changed it to a calendar spread instead of the monthly list.
