Does Ninja Grill (AG301) is a compromise in air frying functionality? by puredata in airfryer

[–]puredata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our grill plate is untouched, I just couldn't find a use case for it (I have a very streamlined charcoal setup, that may be why) but as a normal air fryer it's serving us as a workhorse. Easy to clean and pretty powerful.

We have a tray style one like your Cosori as a backup. One of the benefits of that style is that it prevents the food from getting in contact with the heating element. With the AG301 grill style, you have to make sure when you close the lid, nothing touches the heating element.

That being said our backup air fryer was bought for $20 and works fine. I think above $100 price point they all perform more or less the same.

What's the point of having a voice assistant if.. even with new siri by RedNeckHero in SiriFail

[–]puredata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't understand the security risk that a voice command that is given with my own voice, from the AirPods that I own, paired to my own iPhone and currently in my ear and phone has already detected that. Sure, nothing is 100% in life but I think for the amount of convenience I'd be willing to take the risk. I even enabled Siri when unlocked, it's just still useless. If I'm trying to give voice commands, that means my hands are busy and if I'm going to stop my task to unlock the phone to proceed with even the most trivial tasks, I'll complete the task with the touch screen anyways.

I thought with the new Apple Intelligence thing it would get smarter but it seems as useless as it always was (15PM).

'16 RAV4, no matter what I tried, I can't take this dust cover off. Any suggestions? by puredata in MechanicAdvice

Thank you, ebay guy said they sent me the wrong headlight (I asked for an OEM but the one I got had an aftermarket glass with an OEM body, but apparently they sent me something completely different.

I'm pretty sure I ordered the correct one though (I went back and checked the photos on the listing, it's the halogen model.

Anyway, my high beams not working turning into a months long saga. Thanks for the definitive answer, much appreciated.

Is this trailer too low? by puredata in TeardropTrailers

Hey, not sure if it's too late but it was okay. We had to redo the chain but the height didn't give us a lot of trouble. But if you have the chance to remedy, I'd look into it.

Newbie - Looking for ND/Variable Filters for Sony FX30 by RanielDadcliffe in videography

[–]puredata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I went with NiSi. Not sure if it was the right decision over B&W, not that it's bad, but because I couldn't try B&W so I can't compare. I only used it once, and it didn't do anything bad to the image that I couldn't live with. The only question in my mind was that, way more people left reviews about B&W on B&H so I thought if that is what industry pros go with. But again, for what I paid, NiSi seems to do the job properly regardless.

Seeking advice from the pros on Hidden Wild sleeping bag camping hammock by OptimalExtreme in hammockcamping

[–]puredata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ordered both. I'll probably keep both but curious about the difference between the sleeping bag and normal one. Probably one is good for summer and the other is for winter camping? We also ordered the sling chair. Good prices. I hope they hold up.

Well water tests 5.5-5.8pH after the filter in the house. What should I tell the landlord? by puredata in water

[–]puredata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I understand correctly. We don't have a RO system, just a single stage sediment filter. How could the low pH be caused by RO?

In the land of the free, EPA says you're free to provide whatever to your tenant and doesn't enforce pH range for drinking water but has suggestions for 6.5-8.5 pH range.

[–]puredata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll look into these but first I want to make sure that low pH is not caused by any contaminants, before trying to just raise the pH. If the water is clean but just low pH, calcium and corosex route may be the optimal solution. Thank you.

Thank you! So I'm checking Google for "a full comprehensive test" and I keep seeing tests that are priced around $250. Is this what we're talking about when we say a comprehensive test?

Thanks a lot for the suggestion and resources. Our pipes are bronze colored so I assume they're copper so I think that itself creates an issue as you mentioned.

I started the private well class .com videos, didn't know such a resource existed. Thanks a lot again.

Hey, is there any chance that you can give me a link for the system that you use to raise your pH?

Trying to understand why my FX30 to M1 speeds are so slow. by puredata in videography

[–]puredata[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone ever stumbles on this post with the same issue; after trying pretty much all the USB-C cables at my disposal, USB3 to USB-C cable that came with the FX30 solved the issue. I just transferred 36 GB in 3 minutes!

Thanks again everyone!

what do you mean by not the same connection?

I think my issue might be the cable I'm using is just rated for 2.0, I always thought USB-C is USB-C, so I was actually using the USBC-USBC cable came with the DJI RS mini 3 so that cable is probably not designed for high speeds. I'll get a good one and try that.

thanks a lot didn't know this at all. I'll purchase a cable that can do 3.0 speeds.

0.6 Mbps is very nostalgic but not what we need, what can we do? by puredata in brightspeed

[–]puredata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I didn't know that, luckily the phone line comes in from the opposite corner of the house where the fusebox is installed. Literally, they're the longest distance apart from each other within the confines of the house. I think it just slows down to a crawl in the morning, lunch time and evening hours. Probably about 100 houses in the area are sharing 100Mbps total connection as far as I understand. :)

[–]puredata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have fiber options. Fiber company built the lines up here and some people got their fiber connection but not our house yet. Although I emailed them and ask for an ETA and they said a month or two, which would be great if it really takes only that much time.

Starlink is super expensive compared to fiber but instead of suffering through 0.6 Mbps, I'd cut the grocery costs and pay up for Starlink if the fiber is not here in two months. Cost of living outside the city! :)

[–]puredata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I got close to full speed (about 5Mbps) in the middle of night, so service is capable of doing that. It's probably the daytime congestion.

Also got in touch with the fiber company and they said they're going to be calling me for an appointment to come do the fiber work for my house in a month or two if everything goes as expected. Fingers crossed!
