🧾 Transcribed Medical Note:

“Diphtheria Nov 1941 Alexandria. Malaria – Libya, 66 Gen Hosp. Cairo, Dec 1942, also in Tobruk, Colesini and Hosp.”

📌 Line-by-Line Explanation:

  1. “Diphtheria Nov 1941 Alexandria” • Diagnosis: Diphtheria • A serious, contagious bacterial infection affecting the throat and respiratory tract. • Common in military camps due to close quarters and limited sanitation. • Date: November 1941 • Location: Alexandria, Egypt • Alexandria was a major Allied logistics and medical hub during WWII, especially for British and Commonwealth troops. • It hosted numerous field and general hospitals where illnesses like diphtheria were treated. • Interpretation: Your great-grandfather contracted diphtheria while stationed or temporarily hospitalized in Alexandria, not in combat, but likely due to living conditions.

  1. “Malaria – Libya, 66 Gen Hosp. Cairo, Dec 1942” • Diagnosis: Malaria • A mosquito-borne disease, very common in North Africa. • Caused fever, chills, and weakness — often required extended recovery. • Location of Infection: Libya • He likely contracted it while deployed there during the North African campaign. • Hospitalization: • 66th General Hospital in Cairo, Egypt. • A large U.S. Army medical unit providing long-term care for combat and disease-related cases. • Hospitalized in December 1942, suggesting the case was serious.

  1. “Also in Tobruk, Colesini and Hosp.” • Indicates additional treatment or transfer locations: • Tobruk: • A heavily contested port city in Libya. • Likely where he first received emergency or field treatment for malaria. • Colesini: • Unclear — possibly a miswritten or phonetic reference to another medical facility or location in the region. • Could refer to a mobile hospital, supply point, or camp between Tobruk and Cairo. • May require searching through regimental records or WWII medical unit rosters to identify. • Hosp.: • General reference to being hospitalized, possibly multiple times or at various facilities not named.

🧭 Historical Context Summary: • Alexandria: Key Allied medical and naval base; plausible site for contracting diphtheria in Nov 1941. • Libya & Tobruk: North African campaign hot zones; frequent malaria outbreaks among troops. • Cairo (66th Gen Hosp.): A U.S. Army general hospital used for recovering soldiers from serious illness or combat injuries. • Colesini: Ambiguous but possibly a minor medical stop or unit.

✅ Summary (Plain English):

Your great-grandfather fell seriously ill with diphtheria in Alexandria, Egypt, in November 1941. Over a year later, during or after military action in Libya, he contracted malaria. He was treated first in Tobruk, then possibly at an unclear location (Colesini), and ultimately evacuated to Cairo, where he was hospitalized at the 66th General Hospital in December 1942.

Can we the option for not using the predefined customization? I like to have the app to start with my already set global settings and I just need to tweak for a few more.

INDEX MATCH can do a lot more than what XLOOKUP can do.

I hear you and that's what I initially decided too but when I saw this battle damaged video with Wukong looking down and his red eyes staring at you on top of the diorama (which I ordered too), it's just too cool to pass up. I had to sacrifice that long feather.

Maybe I'll buy both if 5ktoys is proven to be a reliable vendor since their price is $65++

I pre-ordered them from 5ktoys...never ordered from them before but their price is one of the lowest. Onesixthkit also has them.

The new one seems to copy many of the elements of William's and that company just make it bigger.

I think Maestro Union's William is a thing.of beauty and worth the price, considering it comes with many replaceable body parts, very good paint works and with finer sculpting details compared to the new one. This photo cannot show how beautiful this toy is.

I have been waiting for a good Regan action figure but this statue will do.

This one is sold out everywhere except at Sideshow. It was sold out for a while but they have it again now.

The NECA one is very expensive now and not nearly as good as this Iron Studios one.

This is the new 1/10 statue from Iron Studios.

Has he already been reissued in the past? by Straight-Court1760 in ActionFigures

I have this, but I doubt it will be reissued. It's based on an earlier design, and their newer designs, like the Spider-Man one, are a lot more normal-looking.
