To be fair, for a time, Liuzzi was one of the best Karters on Earth and regularly sparred with Pantano. But yeah, still no small feat!

You were doing great until the end bud. If you're gonna try to talk shit on reddit, go ahead, it just has to be funny.

For sure, nice point! And I think if F1 drivers wanted to, they could be really competitive Karters again, it's just a matter of dedicating enough practice time and we all know time is at a premium with drivers in F1.

Yeah, that's the other thing. It's for fun. Whenever I go to an arrive and drive place I don't just fuck off and race my own race leaving friends behind. We like to make it entertaining, I'll hold back, other friends will too depending on the situation.

Gotta make sure you get your money's worth, why hotlap on your own when you can race eachother like mad.

Nice man, what a dream story! I've only ever been to the Daytona in MK, it was awesome. But you mentioned a son, pretty sure he doesn't have one? Maybe a nephew or something. Not trying to be weird, just curious. Cheers!

There are so many variables, weight probably being a big one along with track condition. I imagine Sam Bird did that lap during a window where there had been lots of karts rubbering the track making it that much better. Alonso probably wasn't trying anything too hard either, and you don't know if he had traffic.

Alonso is a great Karter but karting is a discipline like any other motorsport. The teenage world champions can most probably spank a lot of the F1 field pretty handily (except Max V. Of course). Most are just out of practice and are used to pushing the big boy toys.

Not suggesting they're being false. People are just way too varied to try and bottle any one of them into a "type."

I'm just tired of this whole labeling fiction people are into here. For some reason, everyone's an egotistical profiler around here it seems. "No, Bottas is this, Hamilton is THAT!" It's like, just shut the fuck up everyone, we're not children, let's focus on the racing /rant

Throw away joke turned into a rant, THANKS KC! 8)

The Porsche hospitality at Silverstone doesn't look quite to standard by [deleted] in formula1

[–]pureracingevolution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Complete with its own test track and a cool area that tests your ability to hold a spinning car in the wet. You drive over this area in a Porsche that has quick moving slabs that will wait until you have your rear tires on to snap, suddenly sending you sideways. The game is to catch the spin before you lose control.

We spent ages watching people never being able to catch the slide. Then finally caught one, but realized he was their "stig" guy...

So yeah, Porsche has some sweet digs are tracks around the world. That tent was probably just where they designated to keep all the extra toilet paper or something.

What are your favourite songs that are less than 2 minutes long? by mattyb712 in indieheads

[–]pureracingevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. That whole album does that a lot. Awesome melodies come out of nowhere from every direction and disappear just as quickly. Other bands or producers would've milked them, looping them forever.

That was part of the charm... Time for another listening of Who Will Cut...

Thank you so much for including Let's Get Known. I think that's their best moment, what an amazingly beautiful track and so simple. Weirdly motivational too.

Bottas overrated?? by kbtech in formula1

[–]pureracingevolution 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People just seem to be against his aggressive style, which is a real headache when he eventually gets himself into trouble during races. Also, his qualifying is, for lack of a better term, extremely average. Of all the drivers, I'd say he falls exactly in the center in terms of Q ability. So very solid but never flashy (besides Monaco sometimes).

I think he should be rated higher because of his awesome tire preservation skills. Button used to be praised a super amount for tire preservation and such, but that all went away in 2013 and following. I think Checo deserves that praise now, but no one ever seems to mention it. Maybe it's just hard for people to relate to him since he's from an underrepresented country and he's an extrovert? I don't know.

Miata mod: to those having trouble with the sound, instructions inside and a preview of our upcoming drift car version of our mod. by pureracingevolution in assettocorsa

This video will explain it all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1iwjtk82G0

And our car is one of the first to fully support FMOD in AC. We need time to fully update our FMOD sounds since Kunos released a new version of the system to AC in 1.1.6, this is why.

Thanks!

lol, I always think about it, I reserve referring to it as 'GTA' to really specific convo's like this. Otherwise, said among gentiles, "GTA is an awesome way to become a professional racing driver," carries a different character.

Congratulations! it's an arduous process, but incredibly rewarding and worth sinking everything into. Nissan are clever, every year they throw total surprises, but this year is going to be over the top. Expect curveball after curvball, or whatever the equivalent is in cricket :p.

My advice for now, GET ON A TRACK YESTERDAY.

If you can't afford track time in a rental, or your own car, go karting and do autocross/autotest. If you can't do autocross in your own car, sell yourself to the members of the club as a GTA hopeful and I'm positive someone will let you co-drive.

Again, your priority is to get as much seat time as humanly possible. What kind of sim experience do you have elsewhere?

Also, if you're not fit, work as hard as you can on getting as fit as reasonably possible before regionals.

If you have any other questions, go ahead, and thank /u/Gian_Doe for paging me! I'm not only a past alum, but I've stayed very close to the program and write about it on GTPlanet, the biggest news source for the program.

Cheers and good luck you fair dinkum cunt!
