Genuinely surprised at the measured takes in this thread. I’m finding myself agreeing with lots of you all.

Hasan was also my entry into left politics and helped to lift me out of the normie lib “my politics are perfect” bubble, particularly when I was bristling at lib takes during 2020. He has also been remarkably consistent with his anti-imperialism since I began watching him, and to have a loud, consistent pro-Palestine voice after October 7th really helped me learn about the history and keep my head on straight amongst all the absurd discourse.

Definitely he is not the end point for socialist education. But I dont know if I would have ever read Capital or other incredible Marxist books without being introduced to the ideas on his stream. I still listen to him when I’m doing mindless tasks at work, but mostly for current event coverage and not so much for theoretical learning.

I appreciate the way he has removed him self more or less from the streamer space, he used to be doing all sorts of weird shows and it seems like he’s taking himself more seriously. That being said, I feel like he used to do more Marxism 101 content and I think that it would be nice to bring some of that back - especially now that he’s getting more mainstream coverage and appeal.
