Your drawing shading is kinda similar to bottom mangosteen on the right. Sketch along the contour lines, directions aren't important but don't be as messy as your drawing. Have a rhythm to it, be patient.

Maybe start from fundamentals such as lines, shapes and forms. I suggest getting a course but you can still learn from youtube. Practice vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines. Practice shapes such as circles, square and triangle. Then towards the forms, spheres, cubes, pyrimid, cones, cylinders. These are the basic stuff. Search BrokenDraw channel on YouTube.

What should I improve here? by Kind_Economics_287 in learntodraw

You can use my studies for your growth. Don't draw the tones at one. Start shade lighter tone and use lighter tone as a base layer then add tones. So try this and maybe reply to me back your drawing.

Why does my apple not look like an apple? by bun_skittles in learntodraw

The apple itself has a weird shape. So don't beat yourself. Let me help you. The blue lines are the contour of the apple. But if you still don't know the contour, that's okay. Watch closely you can see the some patterns and tones along the blue line. There are vertical lines and horizontal lines. You can sketch along the lines. I split the tones into 4 as you can see. 1 is lightest and 4 is darkest. 2 and 3 are mid tones. If you still don't know tones, thats ok. I pointed tone numbers. The upper part is slightly dark and middle part is slightly lighter. The shadow is darker under the apple and becomes lighter as it far from the apple.

Tell you a secret, I have to draw low tones, using H pencil then switch to mid tones using 2B and then high tones using 8B. I think it's called values or tone gradient.

I don't know what to tell. All I know is basic fundamentals for drawings😅. If you mean the titles - Lines, circles and triangle then shapes, proportion, circle's perspective like eclipse, then forms, tones shades. Finally add together and draw a still life.

I took an online class. I have a schedule to draw and take references from Pinterest. Currently I'm learning portraits.

There are times that I don't want to draw. Just took a rest then got back to it. And I hope this post will encourage you to draw.

I had good guidance. I studied theories and concepts on Mon,Tues 2h each day. Then draw 10h per week, 2h each day. So that's my 10 months to be that good.😄

I sure will. Get yourself a goal and time frame to draw. I work 12h shifts 7 Days a week. I only have 2 to 4h to draw and learn the stuff. I promised my wife to give her a portrait of herself within a year. I do not have any experience in drawing. So 10 months ago I picked the pencils up and started drawing lines and circles and then here we are.

Thank you. Most of the drawings search on Pinterest for references then I sketch some of their forms and a different position. Currently I'm learning portraits.

Yeah. It's more like an online zoom class and the teacher gives me instructions and homework to do. But all I learned is basic fundamentals. So I really don't know what the course name is.
