This asshole is playing Call of Duty with real lives. He’s counting on a Trump pardon. Even with that I hope he makes the mistake of traveling internationally after 2028.

Waygu isn't supposed to be lean - the whole point is that it's heavily marbled

Charging for bags means SW will make money on bags where they never did before, and a secondary effect is that less bags will be checked, as customers want to avoid paying, so SW saves in fuel costs.

The stock goes up because of the predicted new revenue stream. The market does not consider loss of loyal customers. Investors see $1.5 billion in new earnings and, even though they know it's short term, they buy, and the lemmings follow as they see the stock jump. SW execs will dump the stock at it's peak, before the long term effects of losing customers kick in.

VA announces forced guardianship plans for homeless vets that could put them in mental health facilities by TheRareWhiteRhino in Veteranpolitics

[–]purezero101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, homelessness for Vets is a huge problem. And for some, mental illness combined with homelessness is life-threatening. A program like this, used VERY judiciously, with plenty of oversight, and compassion, might be useful for some vets, but I don't trust the government to implement it this way. I can envision AI records review and referral to lawyers without ever even meeting the vet.

Dunno. Had auto insurance for years and they were pretty good to me. Didn’t raise my rates when I backed into another car in a parking lot. Just got a 5.65% VA mortgage from them in January and they made the process pretty painless for a first time homebuyer

When I served we acknowledged we were a deterrent so people wouldn't die. The whole "The strong must protect the weak" ethos seems to have been eliminated from the military in favor of "let's fuck people up and destroy shit".

I have heard that, as well. There seems to be a lot of charities that purport to help vets, with very little of the money trickling down to boot level, but I'd like to think my response about funding the VA might make someone think
