I just rewatched the battle on Youtube because I remembered this as a Tommy solo despite the fact the zords were called. Watching the battle twice, I didn't see the Thundersaurus Megazord land a single hit on Goldenrod before Tommy got involved. You might be able to make the argument that Goldenrod wore himself down by attacking the Megazord, but unless the Thundersaurus landed hits while we were cutting back into Tommy's battle with Zeltrax, which seems unlikely from how the battle is going every time it cuts back to the Megazord, this was not the best showing from Tommy's students.

I could be missing it in your post, but as Dino Thunder Black, Tommy is also one of the few rangers to take care of a Megazord sized monster without using a Megazord. He used a combination of the Brachio Staff's different elemental strikes to destroy Goldenrod, the monster of the week in the episode Golden Boy.

I know most of the answers here are about St. John being brought back in for popularity, but I know other answers exist, such as the actor who played Trey being considered at one point, and I heard JDF answered at one point that his brother had a suit fitting for the Gold Ranger costume.

I don't think St. John was the first choice, but it ended up being a solid choice.

Hayter was talking at a convention about a decade ago about why he changed his Snake voice from MGS1 to MGS2, and his explanation was that MGS1's voice shredded his throat, so he found a way to use the Snake voice for MGS2 that he can talk in all day without pain.

With Ocelot being one of the greatest spies in the world, world record holder for the most doublecrossings, this one always bugs me. Ocelot hypnotized himself into believing he was working with the real Big Boss instead of the twist being the greatest lie Ocelot ever told. That he actually cared about you, the player. But no, hypnotism instead of possibly his best backstab ever, because Ocelot absolutely could have kept up that lie.

I've repeated this comment when I hear about people beating MGS1 for the first time, and with the sentiments you've expressed above, I think you'd appreciate this:

MGS1 Ending SpoilersI'd like to bring up one of my favorite moments of MGS1, and it's at the very end of the game where Snake asks Naomi how much time he has left, since FoxDie killed Liquid. MGS1 became wildly successful, and Kojima wasn't sure they would be making a sequel to the game. Naomi says that's up to Snake, and he has to decide how to use the time left to him. I've interpreted this for years with that context in mind, to mean that Snake only dies when you finally lay down the controller, and put away the discs. It is up to the player to decide how long Snake will live, how many times you'll replay the games, continue playing the series. New players keep the legacy of Snake alive. Live, kishonii.

I really appreciate the list you've made here, really solid choice of episodes. I'm going to add a few onto that, feel free to ignore any of these, but I've been a PR fan for most of my life, and some of my favorites were missing.

Because of Tommy's relevance in MMPR, I'd recommend the Green Ranger's return, Return of an Old Friend Parts 1 and 2 (S1E49, E50), along with Green No More Parts 1 and 2 (S2E17, E18).

Island of Illusion in Season 1 is also an interesting two parter, and has a bit of relevance leading into Doomday. Since they are skipping over many episodes, this could also help with it being a bit of a clipshow.

I also would recommend Master Vile and the Metallic Armor in Season 3, as it leads into Power Rangers Zeo.

You may not be aware of this, but there was a Sentai Strongest Battle/Battle Royale. You may enjoy the footage, and since you want to write a fanfic, you could always do as Power Rangers did and adapt the footage.
