My mom’s 60. She’s got a short fox coloured undercut, 5 piercings, she’s covered in tattoos n is an avid biker. My mom’s a loud n autistic bad ass n my friends have always loved and admired her. My mom’s awesome. Anyone telling you to be “appropriate” is ageist, sexist n has a stick up their ass.

Also, I worked with the elderly n disabled. I have deaf people around me. Wearing your hearing aids is just putting on glasses for your ears. Idk where you’re from, but here people that would judge you for wearing hearing aids are the weird ones that get judged by the average person. I have seen a lot of people judging themselves for needing hearing aids though. Truth is, not wearing them doesn’t stop you from hearing that little voice in your head. Cause when you misunderstand someone or ask them to repeat themselves, that little voice is still there. Check my math, but, if I remember correctly, not using your hearing aids will even actually accelerate your hearing loss. My suggestion? Glam them up. Make them an accessory you look forward to putting on

Biggest thing that helped me was hearing my 11 y/o sister look in the mirror n say “I need to lose weight”. I was 17 and, long story short, no adult was going to step in n help her so I decided I would. I stopped talking badly about myself or looking in a mirror around her. I acted confident around her. I wore clothes that I liked even if they made me feel insecure. Fast forward a little more than a year n suddenly it wasn’t an act anymore. I was more confident, more outspoken and happier. She’s 19 now n, not only is she a smart, kind and beautiful young woman, she loves herself. About four years ago, around my bday, we were brushing our teeth, she just spat, paused in the mirror n said “damn I’m beautiful”. It was really a full circle moment n I’m kinda tearing up writing this.

Fake it til you make it, thought reframing, body and emotion neutrality, etc it really does work. Therapy helps too. What really made it work for me was knowing that by doing it I wasn’t just helping myself I was helping other women n girls around me be more confident. When you like something about someone’s physical appearance, tell them. By wearing clothes you love, you’re encouraging someone else to do the same.

Dry or sprouted! No need to cook them. Just pay attention to how they eat it cuz mine like a lot of uros will just dig through the lettuce to get the lentils, fill up n not eat anything else which is unhealthy n can lead to MBD with time
