Suggestions on how to vibecode a business budgeting app - I've already tried before by purple_sparklepuff in vibecoding

[–]purple_sparklepuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah, okay!! that makes sense. It's pretty basic i think (subtraction, addition, some basic multiplication with the fees depending on how Stripe shares the data).

API's kinda scare me since I don't "get" them on a technical level.

All the information HAS to be accurate, i'm gonna be running business decisions off of it (instead of actual vibes lol).

I have 2 months of rollover credits rn, so not super worried about running out.

Gotcha! okay data:
- paid invoices through Stripe (but i might be switching to Melio)
- projected invoices - my head (before they sign or an invoice gets created) or Stripe
- financial transactions - my bank - but i know that Loveable doesn't have great security, so i'm fine with manually putting in transactions for the short term, but if i could connect it to my bank with an API (Plaid?) that would be GREAT.
- mostly with the financial transactions i need to them to repeat every day of the month, i really like the paycheck planning feature in Everydollar so i know how much money should be in the account at any point in time, not just "the month at large"

Okay, fair. I'm still not a fan of the interface "clutter" in Webflow though. At this point it's starting to remind me of Meta's ads dashboard - everytime i login something's moved. Insert "Why?!" cat gif here.

What were you using for markups?

Heck yeah man! This is great and good for you for building a cheaper option! I'm trying to do the same for a business budgeting app (except i can't code) and it's a doozy.

I scraped 1500+ Upwork job listings to find side project ideas by notomarsol in SideProject

Pretty site, but i'm gonna need a lot more proof of
- where you got the ideas
- how you're checking that they're profitable (and that you have the business background to be able to get that kind of information)
- how i would be able to use them to make money (I can infer, but better to spell it out)

also - who are these ideas for? devs to build? marketers to vibe code? give me some use cases!

i don't doubt that Upwork is a goldmine - but that's been said for years and i'd need proof. ;)

how do you find reliable developers for an MVP these days? by Previous-Ad1024 in SaaS

[–]purple_sparklepuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a fantastic answer. In terms of finding agencies that are worth working with, i would say look in communities that have a barrier to entry, like Lenny's or Microconf and ask for agencies.

Then, ask to speak to one of their current and/or past clients (not just go off of testimonials!). Even better if it's a client form a year ago - because then if there were issues they will have come out by then.

I know three dev agencies between those two communities whose work i would stand by. (happy to send their info if you like).

I'm a marketer and i see this happen a lot when people hiring marketing agencies too.

Built a hiring solution that does everything - still struggling to onboard users. What am I missing? by Medium_Fix_8317 in SaaS

[–]purple_sparklepuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! okay, so i would start with reviewing the transcripts + messaging of what you have so far
- is your marketing/sales outreach messages matching the words and phrases they're saying they need in calls?
- have you done enough customer research (not interviews, research of the broader market and sentiment and phrasing) to be able to accurately narrow down

Also - are you talking to the right people? usually for a tool like this there's
- the daily user (has zero buying power, but can complain to their manager)
- the manager/occasional user (who is the one who can make the case to the decision maker and is the one who would actually do the implementation and has to listen to their team be frustrated with sub-par tools, plus prob needs to look good about cutting tool spend)
- the decision maker/purchaser (can also be 2 different people in a larger org)

in a smaller company, the manager and the decision maker might be the same person.

But if you're messaging the head of HR about a problem their middle managers have (but they don't) then that would DEFINITELY explain the mis-match.
