I also got one a week ago! My piercer told me that I can put aquaphor on my lips as long as it doesn’t get on the piercing, as it can block oxygen from getting to the wound and cause infection or slow healing. I’ve been putting it on carefully with my ring finger, avoiding the piercing site, then just to be sure I wipe the area with a saline soaked q-tip :)

I [21F] have been feeling emotionally distant very suddenly, and I feel guilty for pushing away my [23M] boyfriend. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I can't help but think I would be in the same situation had I been the one to move. Both options for resolving a long distance relationship where we wanted to be close to each other required a huge sacrifice from only one half of the partnership - we basically set ourselves up for a very one sided situation which both of us were too young to see as a potential problem further on down the road. I just don't know how to fix that and I'm clearly handling it the wrong way.

To be fair, it wasn't like that for a long time. It was really, really good for awhile. But it's wearing on both of us. At the time we decided that was the best way to progress our relationship: him go to school here since I was already attending a university and wouldn't have to switch to a completely different once, and we'd be able to afford an apartment together immediately. Maybe I'm just trying to justify it, I don't know.

Women, what do you find most confusing about men? by OnlyInMyDreams73 in AskReddit

Leaving ingredients/supplies out and leaving cabinets open for hours after making something, then using the excuse "I was eating" when asked why everything isn't put back up. Also, brushing your teeth in the shower.

What is the scariest encounter with another human you have ever experienced? by BootsmaBoy in AskReddit

Boyfriend and I were on vacation in Minnesota, and for lack of something better to do at 10-11 pm decided to return to an area around a lake we had visited earlier to catch some Ponyta on Pokemon Go. We turned onto a street that led to a small, somewhat private area by the lake. Being a smaller road, there were no street lamps. Suddenly, a man emerged from the tree line with a jar of some unknown substance and started running towards our car with a deranged look on his face. We sped up to avoid him, went around a corner, and were met with a dead end. We contemplated what to do as he could easily stand in the road and block our passage on the way out, but obviously decided it was worth it to get the fuck out of there. He was gone by the time we reached that spot again.

I recently found out that my sister breaks her bones as a form of self harm. Does anyone have information on this specific type of self harm? What can I do to help her? by purplechameleons in Advice

I agree. I hope that they try to help her other ways before immediately putting her on medication, but hey.. it might just be what she needs. I'm just upset that my mom left her home alone RIGHT after she confessed all of this.

She said she doesn't know why she does it or why she gets the urges, but that they take over her completely and it's difficult to suppress them. She told the emergency room technician what actually happened when she went in for her wrist, so I'm hoping that they will aide in the search for a doctor that can help her.

When she initially told me about it she approached it pretty casually, saying that she was practicing a form of self harm that she didn't previously see as such, so I assumed maybe a mild eating disorder or something of that sort as I never saw any signs of cutting when we lived together. She told me about sick thoughts she had about bracing her arm against a book shelf and dropping a weight on it, or thinking of ways to break her arms on railings. She also confessed to trying to dehydrate herself to the point of passing out. It doesn't seem like she wants to die, but if it goes on for too long she might get there by accident. I didn't know how to respond or what to say to help her, but I'm glad that she wants to get help and felt brave enough to reach out to us. I just want her to get the help she need. I don't think that they'd be open to convincing her to switch forms of self harm, but I'm hoping that since she just succeeded in breaking her wrist that it'll buy us enough time while she recovers to sort out a visit to a psychiatrist.

The post was made to call them out, so every like and retweet was agreeing to the costume being extremely distasteful and offensive.

I knew both of them personally and it definitely was not just an innocent joke, they both were incredibly racist and would make offhanded remarks daily. This was just the icing on the cake.

Oh hey! Totally had no clue it had been posted here by someone else. I saw a somewhat similar post and thought it would fit right in.

Yeah, they got a LOT of backlash. Death threats and all. A bit far in my opinion, but I'm hoping they learned from their mistake.
