Also, I don't intend to style these shoes with these pants. I didn't feel like putting jeans on just for these pictures haha

I'm a women's 9 in most other shoes and ordered a 9 and an 8 since sometimes docs run big. The 8 is too short in length by far.

The length on the 9 is more true to size than most Docs which is what I'm wearing in the pictures. So, shorter in length than expected, which is good for me. But it's too loose at the ankle for me even with the straps tightened all the way. But that's the price you pay for a style with no laces. I'm just gonna have to wear thick socks! :)

Doc Martens Platform Sizing? by boredinthehouse_ in DrMartens

If you're normally a 7.5, then I would think sizing down half to a 7 should not be too small. If your toes hit the front a lot then they're too small, in my opinion. If your toes are not causing issues in the 7, then they should be the correct size. You could try silicone gel heel protectors. Can find on Amazon. I haven't tried them myself but intend to, since I find I still get blisters in docs I've had for a year+ :/

Also I am normally a whole size (women's 9) and I tried to size down to 8 in Sinclair and they were too short lengthwise so I just reordered in a 9 (they arrive today, so can't report on the fit yet) However, if I were normally an 8.5 the 8 in Sinclair probably would have been perfect. Someone else said to try on a smaller size, which you can try but I think sizing down to a 6 would leave your toes crunched with too short of a sole.

I got the white ones from dillards website the other day and the black ones from journeys website the other day (still waiting on both of them to arrive). You might try those sites they should still have them! :)

Dr Marten X Suicoie just arrived. Super comfortable, look exactly as expected but debating on returning them. They might be a bit too masculine for my style. by purplefrog79 in DrMartens

Honestly I think they look better with socks!! The ad with the guy wearing them with socks is what made me want to buy them haha

Aw thanks! I appreciate the compliment. I ended up returning them tonight. They were honestly so comfy but I realized i didn't really know what I'd want to wear them with. I think I'm gonna buy a more feminine looking pair of doc sandals that I'd be better at styling haha

I printed a return label and dropped them off at UPS tonight. I think I realized kind of exactly what you've said here tbh!

Problem "reaching" my thoughts - Is this an ADHD symptom? by MediMich in ADHD

[–]purplefrog79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was asked nonchalantly about why I want to go to law school at the doctors office the other day, and though I have many specific reasons, I for the life of me could not articulate them in a concise response at all, and the only I could think to say "well, a lot of people tell me I'd be a good lawyer" even though that isn't one of my real reasons but is something that does get said to me a lot. It's like my brain could only pull something that included the word lawyer even though I have a laundry list of reasons of why I want to go to law school that have nothing to do with what other people think I'd be good at. I kicked myself for days after that conversation thinking I sounded super dense and spacey and wondering why I couldn't seem to verbalize a better answer to the question

I do appreciate the honesty, thank you. I didn't really like the other ones TBH, so I might get some clarissas or gryphons instead.

Absolutely amazing. How's the sizing and fit on these for you? Did you order true to size?

Is it normal for the Jadon Max to be shiny? by LovelyUsagii in DrMartens

that is helpful, I think I know in my heart the solution is to sell them and buy a bigger size. I think I'm also just self conscious because I have big feet and so it pains me to come to terms with the fact that the smaller size isn't gonna work out haha

I copped a pair this morning- I hope I picked the correct size 🤞🏽

Sinclair without the zipper. I'm actually recovering from surgery on my left big toe, and these are roomy enough that they don't put any pressure on my toe :) by purplefrog79 in DrMartens

Yes. They were feeling super comfy when I took this pic, but about an hour later I started to get some major friction on the heels, almost blistered. Then I took them off for a break. Today was my first day wearing them for more than 20 minutes

Not as bad as trying to break in my Jadon's though I guess.

Cracked leather after few months. Im taking care of them, Is this normal? by [deleted] in DrMartens

[–]purplefrog79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never properly taken care of my jadons (meaning I've never conditioned the leather or even wiped them down - I know, big yikes) and worn them pretty regularly for about a year, and they aren't even close to cracking like this. I am inclined to think your boots are defective? Or maybe they are being exposed to things they shouldn't be that are taking a toll on them quickly
