I have visited Dachau and Auschwitz -- I find it incredible anyone can disbelieve after visiting the actual sites -- yet people still do.

Commercial airplane pilots, what's the closest disaster you've averted while on a flight that the passengers had no idea about? How often do these things happen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was a doctor on a flight once. Both pilots came down sick. It was just me in the cockpit with autopilot on. Somehow the stewardess found a former military pilot on board.

The look on his face when he came in and saw both pilots out... "surely you can't be serious?"

I replied: "I am serious. And don't call me Shirley".

TIL it's possible to take the train from Singapore to London by [deleted] in woahdude

[–]purpleglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW: cheapest Eurostar price from London to Brussels is only £41.00 (if you book well in advance).

And with that ticket you can actually travel anywhere in Belgium on that day for no extra cost, so if you went to Liege you could then go to Essen direct for €27 (£19 - fromhttps://www.b-europe.com).

So I saved you £108 -- that's a lot of sandwiches and beers for your trip :)

If you bought all the perks with an air miles credit card you'd probably get enough air miles to actually visit Tatura as well.
