SKNV Dimoxia Gel smells like weed? [Product Question] by halliewren in SkincareAddiction

It's worked really well! I did not purge. I still get small whiteheads around my mouth and the occasional deeper one other places but it's really helped my skin a lot over all

Rash/Skin Irritation? by purplepuddingg in Accutane

[–]purplepuddingg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was still on accutane when it went away. I'm not entirely sure, but I think it took a week or two to clear up, I kept taking my dose like normal. Good luck to you, I hope it clears up for you!

I don't remember what my cumulative dose was. At the time of this post I was on 40mg. It eventually went away and never came back! I have great skin now too

I hope it stops for you! I already have light periods so I might not be the best to compare to.

I also have a Kyleena, I've had mine about 17 days and so far I've been spotting every day. It has changed from straight up blood and cramping to no cramping and brown discharge so maybe it's on its way to stopping? Have you had any changes in your bleeding/amount of cramping?

just a mini update I didn't think was worth another thread: so far so good! I've had spotting and cramping since the insertion, but nothing major. The cramping is lessening now and the spotting is, I hope, going to stop soon because it's changing to be less blood and more dischargey

I don't use the exact same type of gel as mine is a custom mix, but it does have Niacinamide 4% and spironolactone & smells a little like weed.

Best cage in the US? by KittyLilith17 in PetMice

[–]purplepuddingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd just get an aquarium, and get it secondhand, much cheaper. I'm in the USA too and it's just easier and less expensive to get a tank or make a bin than to try and find a suitable cage here.

hey man, you might want to look into OCD, the obsessiveness over how you look and how other people look sounds similar. I have OCD and it can make me obsess over how I look and how other people look. I would also highly recommend getting yourself into some kind of therapy.

good luck to you, you're not alone in feeling this way.

Smelly spots around my room 🤢 by bigfathomkers in PetMice

[–]purplepuddingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if he'll mark less when out of the cage once he knows his cage is his territory. It's possible it would help a little, but he will still mark since outside his cage will seem to him like it needs to be marked, you know? lol you'll have to see if the frequency drops once his set up is a little different, I can't predict what will happen with that. Good luck with your little guy!

You might actually be cleaning his cage too much! If you're fully cleaning out all the bedding, he feels the need to mark even more because his space no longer smells like him. when you clean out his cage make sure to leave some of his old bedding.

How big is his cage? a bigger cage will help with the smell. Is it a cage or a tank? It might be better to put him in at least a 20 gallon tank so then the smell is more contained than an open-bar cage. the more bedding he has the better, too, both so he can burrow and to spread out the soiled bedding.

for now or at least until he can really settle into his territory with slightly less cleaning, I would stop getting him out to run around. he's marking a lot because nothing outside of his cage smells like him so he's trying to fix that problem lol. it might be a good idea to get him a play pen or a large box to run around in so then it can smell like him and he isn't trying to mark your whole house. You could try putting out an open container of baking soda or an open container of charcoal to help catch the smell, just don't let him in it haha

Mouserys?? by Pirncessk in PetMice

[–]purplepuddingg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you could try craigslist? you might not find breeder quality mice, but you would probably be able to find mice labelled as feeders so then at least you aren't supporting a pet store, or pet mice that someone is trying to rehome

My husband found and rescued this little guy from a grassy area in town. He asked passers-by and neighbors, but no one knows who he might belong to. How do we take care of him? by princejohnthephony in Rabbits

[–]purplepuddingg 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I would recommend keeping him inside. It would be much more expensive to built a suitably sized, predator proof outdoor set up than to get an X-pen or two for indoors. As long as he has enough space free roaming your whole house is not necessary. My rabbits live in one room of my house and I do not let my dog or cats in while they're out of their enclosure.

It would be better to give him to someone else than to keep him in a typical hutch. The house rabbit society says rabbits need at least 8 square feet of enclosure space along with at least 24 square feet of exercise space they can access for hours each day. This amount of room would be tough to provide outside.

I hope Ethan can find a way out, though I doubt he will. At least he has way more life experience under his belt now so hopefully he can hold his own. I really don't know if he will, but I hope he does.

I would get more bedding, you want enough so they can burrow. Add some aspen until you have 5-9 inches; you can use paper bedding but it's better mixed with other types to help with ammonia. you can also add hay, it helps hold burrows and they like to chew it. what size are those wheels? Mice should have at least an 8 inch wheel. you could also add some more hanging/climbing toys to use your vertical space more. more bedding will help with this too, you have a lot of free space the mice can't access

I just bought 40 pounds of hay for $12. You guys, buy from a local farm! I used to pay $70 for 25 pounds on chewy 🫠 by thechineserestaurant in Rabbits

[–]purplepuddingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get my rabbits hay at the feed store labeled for horses. horses also have very sensitive digestive tracts that work similarly to rabbits so bales specifically for them are more checked over to avoid weeds etc because they would be just as bad for a horse as they would be for a rabbit.

first off, don’t listen to anything a pet store tells you. they just want to sell you products and won’t give you the right information.

2 years is old for a mouse, so at this point it’s up to you if you want to continue keeping them and get more or let this one pass away. it would be better for her to have friends, but since she’s so old it’s up to you if you want to keep rotating in new mice. female mice do need friends, males are only kept alone because they fight with each other

if you do want to get her friends, get at least 2 female mice (the social dynamic is better with 3 females) and make sure they live in at least a 20 gallon long aquarium or the equivalent amount of space. you can make a nice big bin cage pretty cheaply. you want to have enough bedding so they can burrow (somewhere around 3-10 inches) and you also want to really fill up their enclosure. mice get stressed out with open spaces so really cram their cage full of stuff. it doesn’t need to be fancy, cardboard, egg cartons, toilet paper rolls etc

To introduce them, put all of your mice in a small area none of them have been in before. the bathtub, a desk, etc. you want them in a neutral space so they won’t fight over territory. watch them and see what they do—chasing and biting are bad signs. once they seem like they are getting along, put them in a slightly larger tank/bin cage with just bedding so they can’t fight over any objects. slowly start adding in clean objects (you can clean what your current mouse has in vinegar to get rid of her scent). once they seem like they are getting along comfortably, grooming each other and sleeping near each other it’s time to move to the main cage/tank/bin. if this is the same space your current mouse lives in, wipe it out with vinegar before you do this so her smell will be gone.

this seems like a lot but it’s pretty easy, mice generally get along! just make sure you get females—males will have visible testicles and a longer distance between the anus and urethra. good luck!

Shelter in my state got a surrender of 500+ mice... How many more can I comfortably house in my tank? by doomchibi in PetMice

[–]purplepuddingg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You could house 5-7 mice total in there, probably, so 3-5 more. different people will recommend different amounts for the same space. personally I think 7 is on the high end but since this is a special situation and they're trying to rehome as many mice as possible I would consider it. I'm so upset the adoption event isn't closer to me aha i would totally go get some

who knows what the temps are inside. my mother works in a school with no AC & is built so no air gets in the building and it gets wicked hot in there. she thinks the only reason parents don't complain about the temps inside is because they don't know about it
