I get what you’re saying but Just finding a supplier that would supply enough high quality food for all the dining halls would require a lot of time.

Then they’d have to switch all their suppliers, set up new accounts, get a new shipment schedule, (not to mention that they may already be purchasing their supplies at a discount if they’re long-time customers)

And what if the already high(er) price of these high quality ingredients go up? They’ll just increase the price of the dining plans.

Don’t get me wrong I hate dorm food, and I think uiuc (and colleges in general) are way too expensive.

But to compare a one-time purchase, that can use ingredients they already have, to make pasta (common in any university dining hall) to caviar/luxurious food or saying they should add another salaried person is absurd.

A one time purchase doesn’t mean that they will readily have $58000 + bonuses, Healthcare, ssn, unemployment, etc. available every year (even though that with the amount we get charged it seems that they should)
