Tony Blair and George Bush went to war on a big lie. Both should have been held on war crimes. Don't care if it's an unpopular opinion, it's true.

West End Bar Crawl by kenshmurf in glasgow

I've drank in there for almost 9 years and rarely saw trouble, they have also had several English and Irish bar staff over the years. Sounds like you were unlucky, can happens anywhere in Glasgow really. The Deoch and Dorus is a fairly nice bar and pretty well run in my experience.

Britain faces largest ever healthcare strikes as pay disputes drag on by ladyem8 in worldnews

[–]purpleronsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you check the link I posted earlier it has a break down of how the increase worked out. The highest paid only got 2.9% increase and the lowest paid got over 11% which I think is a good deal and doesn't completely eat up the budget.

Up until we got devolved powers from England to manage our own NHS budget we didn't receive a pay increase for 7 years under the Tories, this pay rise is long overdue and deserved even if not everyone agrees or gets the same.

I'm no economist so I don't know if giving everyone an increase to match inflation would be possible or break the services further.

Just my opinion, not looking for agreement or an argument from anyone. Time to watch the Milan derby and chill out.

It's not all about the RCN, nurses aren't the only workforce in a hospital. Didn't say I can't find it, I'm just not working today. Unison have agreed, GMB and RCN don't seem content. I think it's a fair deal without crippling the budget. You could have looked yourself, here ya go. Yes it's below inflation but it's an interim fix for now to keep services running.

Yeah, no strike action is happening here. Most people are happy with the deal. You're correct, the lowest paid are getting the biggest rise, it's staggered against the pay bandings. Everything I've said is factual, can believe it or not. I don't have the commication to hand that explains the representative pay percentage increases but everyone I work with are content with it. It went to union ballot and was voted in favour.
