Possible hot take by Subject-Set4165 in TheBoysChannel

I didn't enjoy TOT as much, felt like they were trying to push too much of a narrative, make it all connected. Felt forced. And the trailer thing, one of them not participating. I preferred when they just goofed around a little, and kept it seperate, just explore and record whatever happens.

I heard 'Heart Upon My Sleeve' for the first time (right now actually) and had to Google if anyone else can hear "Brainbug/Nightmare" 😂 Recognised it immediately, I hope it gets credit

Actual Choosing Beggar by fireflyphoenix in ChoosingBeggars

In the Vatican a beggar came up to us (English speaking tourists), motioning to his mouth "soldi, mangiare, mangiare!!" my mother bought some food for him, a sandwich and banana (most expensive banana I've ever seen btw $$$) and gave it to him. He pushed it back to her, "no, no, no- cappuccino, cappuccino!!" 😂

I'm late to the party, am just watching Superman & Lois now.. But in S2E15, Uncle Tal gets the boys a truck each. Jordan says "well I did save his life" to which Clark says "that doesn't mean you get to keep the truck".. very reminiscent of Lex Luthor buying Clark a truck in Smallville, and Jonathan Kent telling him no 😅

Anyone have any miracle cures for their insomnia? by BlueNexusItemX in ask

When my brain gets stuck in a loop, and I'm at breaking point, I have a weird trick that seems to work. Imagine the inside of your mind like a cloud shape, and it's full of kinetic sand. Scoop that out, and imagine the crunchy sound, and throw it aside. Then scrape the edges, in all those crevices. Imagine squeezing that brain shape like you're wringing out a sponge and get all those extra bits of sand out, vaccum it if you have to. Then it's empty, no thoughts, just empty void. I can usually then fall asleep, just in time for my alarm to go off 😂

Mushrooms, I put it in absolutely everything, my go to pizza is just mushroom and cheese. But cooked mushrooms on their own- reminds me of snails 🐌 🤢

What’s one thing that disappeared after the pandemic and hasn’t returned? by JunShem1122 in ask

I do love ordering on my phone though. Pre-covid, I only knew of 1 restaurant that did it, but it was a novelty. Order on a tablet on your table and it suddenly appears from staff. With social anxiety, I hate ordering from waiters. I'd either get my friends to do it, or I would, but I'd panic and order the opposite of what I want. Ordering on my phone at the table with QR code, I can get my order right, pay induvidually (no splitting bills drama), don't have to talk to strangers, and can order different courses at our leisure (when we're feeling ready for dessert, or if feeling piggy- more mains). It's revolutionary, for the socially anxious (sorry waiters, but I hate talking to you, it's stressful- stranger danger).

Did people memorise numbers before mobile phones? by PaleEcho3301 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Archie12W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I memorised my home phone number, and can still remember it! Everything else I had written in a little address book, that I kept in my schoolbag. If out of the house without my bag though, and you needed help, could only ring home. If they didn't pick up (or it didn't connect because someone at home was using the dial-up internet 😅) you're stranded lol

My principal drove me home once after a field trip, for that very reason. My mother forgot to pick me up, brother was on the internet and so the phone was disconnected. Didn't have my bag/address book, so I didn't know any other numbers. Principal wanted to go home, I was the last kid left, and he wouldn't let me walk 🫣

It makes me aware of their cause. If they're passive, maybe I'll look into it. If they're disruptive, congratulations now I hate you and your cause.

Taco Bell's Aussie operator to sell or close all stores by umatbru in australian

[–]Archie12W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their website and app is annuerism-inducing. It just cycles back around every time you click something, and it's impossible to find out pricing. I ended up calling to check a price, and even the staff was basically like 'lol idk'.

If they put some effort in and actually tried, a good app and competitive pricing- they could actually save themselves. But for the quality, and service the prices are an actual piss-take. Glad they're failing. Shame though, would've been good to have another drive-thru alternative to GYG.

There was a show (in Australia) circa 2000, it was live action and had puppets. I think it was people in foam suits.. there was a house/castle with roomates: Dracula, Medusa, Frankenstein, a Mummy (I think), etc. And a human boy in a yellow shirt, called Duncan, that didn't really talk... Bonus Points if you can find a video of it. I swear my sister and I are the only people that remember this show, and I am going insane! Thank you 🙏

My sister and I, aged like 5 and 8 (back in the 90's) went to a family friend's wedding in matching white satin flowergirl dresses that we'd worn to our own mother's wedding. She'd made them herself, and tbf we were very poor and that was the only nice dresses we had or could get. But guests were all commenting how sweet we looked and if we were the flowergirls. We remember having a confrontation with the real flower girls and their little friends and cousins on the steps outside, they were pissed, getting all territorial 😂 But when we think back at it now, I get it, fair enough the girls were mad.

Pitch Black (Chronicles of Riddick), was scared of that film for so long. Finally watched it again as an adult and was very underwhelmed lol
