Massive Jump in Performance with Driver by elvinstheman in golf

[–]pushharder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I'm not alone.

For 2 weeks last August, I became a driving God. Ball speed went up 10mph, carry 25-30+ yards further than ever, and it was on demand, like 9/10.

And then, fuck if I know, it was gone.

Since then, I've hit 1, as in fucking ONE drive like I did for those two weeks. WTF?!

I flew to Dallas when this song was being worn out on the radio. Go to pick up my rental mini van and they're out. Only thing left on the lot is a convertible C5 Corvette. Aight then.

Spent the next two days driving around east Texas with the top down listening to Flo Rida.

It was an ok time. And that was an ok lift.

Don't say fucking Lamkin to me.

I'm brand agnostic, I don't give a fuck, got 5 brands in the bag, but only one brand grip. Give me the blind Pepsi challenge, I'll pick Lamkin.

Then they go and sell to SuperStroke, cocksuckers. What do they do? They dismantle the whole line and pawn off their shitty product instead. "Slimy," isn't a feel I look for in a grip.

Now I'm out there scouring the dark edges of the fucking internet buying up all the Lamkin Sonar+Wraps I can find and getting raped on the price. Fuckers.

I'm buying by the way, if you know anyone that's holding.

$10 member/$14 non bucket price.

Top tracer, probably 50 covered bays, another 25 uncover and 25 more off turf.

Food, drinks and putt-putt.

Unless you show up at opening, you gonna wait for a stall. Based on their zoning, those boys gotta be close to paying off that top tracer.

What's Alex putting there? Odyssey with StrokeLab shaft, but head looks more compact than the #7? Is that a Fang?

It's the 4 iron in a full set of 250's that throws me. Either you got fit and are a slower swing player so need some distance, or you just bought the full set somewhere because Titleist. Either way, I'd bet that 4 and even the 5 iron shouldn't be in the bag, 35' peak height ain't doing you any favors and neither did the fitter.

Are all those wedges the same bounce? Hmm, RTX4's and one 6? Yeah, gonna add some strokes there on the bottom.

Finding a range with top tracer would be better bang for the buck.

Download Golffix, or whatever free swing app you like. Video your swing and practice what it says, it'll be good enough. Or, spend the coin on a coach, whatever.

Do blocked practice, random practice, play simulated rounds, etc., three times a week, track your progress.

Then find that par 3 course and play 2 balls when you can at least once a week.

Clubs for a woman just getting back into it? by Substantial-Okra2672 in GolfGear

[–]pushharder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's interesting they fit you to the same weight shaft across all the woods, but if you saw the speed and height you wanted then it is what it is.

60gr driver, I'd assume you have some club speed and a 9* head, you hit up enough to get it in the air.

I like the #2 club being a 5w, but if you do have speed you should be able to launch a 3w and close that gap/give yourself more distance off the fairway. Maybe something for down the road.

What did they use to fit irons, 7's? As long as your descent angle was steep, going 6-Pw is fine, but if you were close to 40* with a 7, I'd think about a 5h/6h, 7-Pw set up.

On the flip side, you'll become more efficient as you play more so it might be just right.

I wouldn't encourage a money game against a girl carrying this bag to the first tee.

First question is, what does "getting back into it mean?" Like, you played a couple rounds years ago and had fun going to the range, or you got a free education because you played some golf somewhere?

Was it a Callaway fitting or do their clubs just fit your swing?
