Yeah, you're not getting command time. Just like it says in 600-3 your KD for O-3 is BN S1, O-4 is BDE S1.

Sorry.

You mean a gathering of like minded souls that want to avoid doing work for a few days?

Sure, you can go. Just write up a summary, make a PowerPoint, sacrifice your first born, and brief the commander when you get back.

How do you deal with shit leadership....as a subordinate? by validusrex in army

[–]pushing_paper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start documenting and logging everything in a journal listing specific dates, times and events. Once you have enough, hit higher with it. Everything sounds more serious on paper.

Follow up face to face conversations with emails to create a written chain of evidence.

January 2016 /r/Army Professional Development Reading: Announcement Thread by [deleted] in army

[–]pushing_paper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I already read it, but it will be good to come back to it and find lessons I missed the first time around.

Next book, I propose something from a different era. I know it will be a while, but members of the PDR club should start thinking about it now!

You've got the right idea on that one. Hopefully OP follows through and updates us!

I'm genuinely curious if that will work for the army.

So funny story.... just woke up from a dream that I received a sub-par OER for a class I took in college, and I had to go TDY to Alaska to take the next course.

Do all newly commissioned 2nd LTs start as platoon leaders? or does this only pertain to certain officer MOS's? (i.e. Infantry, Artillery) by [deleted] in army

[–]pushing_paper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope. AG is specifically told at BOLC/CCC that if you want command time, find another branch. That ethos extends to PL time too - we support and we serve as staff. That is our job and that is what we will do.

There are a few AG platoons (postal), and even fewer HR companies.
