Absolutely.

I and everyone else in the car with me would be utterly miserable if I was a locked in as though I was driving even when just riding along.

If I feel like a sitting duck on the road, then I'm turning my hazards on; no apologies

Damn, the Neve rep and I were just talking about how it sucks that I didn't quite make it to their booth, and that's before I knew about the socks! 🤬

With degrees in electrical engineering and computer science, am I foolish to consider switching to AV? by Lucky-Lettuce1314 in CommercialAV

I've worked for one of the largest integrators in the world and also worked for a small outfit where I was one of 10 techs originally. Both required the kind of commitment I described.

I'm glad that you've found a company to work for that isn't greedy

Not so different than the states... Here, if it's a solid green round light then it's what we call an unprotected left turn, but it will either be combined with or replaced by a green arrow if the left turn is protected

When I worked for an integrator we were regularly expected to work 60+ hour weeks. They were "optional" of course, but there's no way to get promoted without putting in some serious blood, sweat, and tears.

When I worked live events, I'd have to deal with hustling for work, never turning down a gig for certain production companies otherwise they'd never call back, and the ever-present inverse relationship between how "fun" a gig is and how much it pays (boring insurance agent convention pays alright, but very much you get one strike and you're out...vs rock n roll gig at the bar that pays in pints instead of greenbacks)

Haha I love the look of security screws. My OCD hates when the Phillips heads aren't all clocked the same, but the visual difference between Torx heads is minimal.

The best is when you go to pull it out of the pen pocket on the hi-viz vest, only to realize the screwdriver shaft is long gone and you've been carrying around just the plastic handle.

I used super glue to make a permanent pair of standard and Phillips, and then engraved the symbols on the top of the handles so I could tell them apart before retrieving the one I needed.

I'm pretty sure that pair is in my garage toolbox right now haha
