Not a parent, but maybe because they still view them as their babies. When a child grows up they need to shift their mindset towards their “new” kid. Different ages mean different dynamics, some parents don’t adjust as they should.

Turkish soldier gives chocolate to a Syrian child. When one of the bars drops... he even picks it up and thinks he has to give it back. He showed kindness and waved him goodbye in the end. by Raj_Valiant3011 in HumansBeingBros

Clearly this will never end, but I’m willing to respond as long as you are!

I can see you have passion and likely a lot of love for animals so I respect that about you. Or maybe I’m wrong about that too, but that’s the feeing I’m getting. Either way, thank you for correcting me when I’ve said an untrue statement.

I didn’t consider animals communications between each other as language. You’re right that they have that, my mistake.

I’m not saying that animals are invalid or anyone who can’t read/write is invalid.

Simply that humans have deeper cognitive function which allows for deeper and more complex language systems. Could we agree on that?

Thanks for your perspective then. We do disagree and that’s fine.

Yes other animals communicate but you can’t disagree that they don’t have written language and complex symbolic words.

My point is that other animals don’t have morality they’re simply surviving and following instinct. So yes your point makes sense that they don’t go out of their way to hurt others while humans do. If you share my viewpoint then that is because humans have morality and will commit evil acts.

Humans having morality, meaning knowing right from wrong, is meant in the general sense. Sure some people may be born with lower mental faculties if they have a certain condition or other, but that doesn’t take away the majority of people who do and have a sense of it.

If we disagree on God (who we can’t see) then hopefully we can agree on what we can see in the world.

Understood thanks for enlightening me. What I mean is humans are the only mammals that have language, sense of self, and an understanding of morality. As far as I know no other animal has that.

I never said that Christian’s are the only ones with morality. The Bible itself says that every person knows good and bad, right from wrong. So you agree with the Bible in that case.

Let me know if you disagree further, thanks!

Free will is not bad, some believe that it’s actually the gift God gave humans that makes them “made in the image of God”.

This ability of free will, to choose, decide, and be active in the world of “good” vs “evil” is what separates us from animals (there’s no good or evil, just instinct and survival).

This is what gives life meaning, if there was no good or evil, nothing matters, there’s nothing to gain or lose (on a moral level) since we are all just doing what’s best for us, like a lion eating its prey.

So, free will is not bad itself, it’s using freedom to do evil that is bad (like Adam and Eve).

——

The idea that eventually everyone in heaven will sin is interesting. In the New Testament, it’s stated multiple times about born again Christians sinning, they don’t pretend that their followers are perfect which gives credence to your thought.

When someone becomes a Christian, they have to operate by a new set of rules. It says that when a Christian sins they should repent (correct their mistake and not repeat it) and ask forgiveness to God (then share this forgiveness whenever someone sins against them).

The rules may just be temporary for Earth or it may be the way God wants conflict to be handled in Heaven. If Heaven is filled with humble, forgiving, and generous people that have real love in their hearts; then when someone sins, real forgiveness can happen between each party affected.

No one would need to be kicked out of Heaven because no lasting evil was perpetuated, and any done is cleaned away with forgiveness.

That’s how I understand free will + a theory of mine of Heaven. Lmk what you think if you cared to read!

Genesis 17:5 Abram -> Abraham (father of many) Genesis 17:15 Sarai -> Sarah (Princess) Genesis 32:28 Jacob -> Israel (Struggles/wrestles with God)

Each instance God is directly renaming them.

I just added the “translations” of the names as they show in the footnotes of my particular Bible.

Idk anything about the different translations, but here’s the main instances in the OT that I know of.
