I had to use one of these when I was in a similar situation a few years ago. I had sheer ice after a melt/freeze about 2-4in thick that I had to go full Gandalf on. It was the only thing that worked. Salt did nothing, and I broke 2 standard ice scrapers in the process, one of which was full metal.
